Across the street, you spy a tall white building with many glass windows. A sign above the front door proclaims, "WALK-IN CLINIC. ALL WELCOME."
Thinking back to the past year or so, you find your life sorley lacking in the health department. When was the last time you went to the dentist? Had a physical? Got your eyes checked? You deicde now is a good time as any and cross, heading inside.
The lobby is cool and dark compared to the heat of midday. You call out, expecting to hear from a receptionist or at the very least a guard of some kind, but find the lobby to be inexplicably empty. The front desk is dark the computer is off. Walking past it, you spy a directory listing the different offices in this building with their assigned floors.
"Hello?" you call out, but you receive no reply. You're suprised; you would've thought you'd have heard at least a nurse or worker somewhere in the building. But no, it's dead silent and you can't hear much of anything.
Turning back to the directory, one of them catches your eye. You stroll over to the elevators, putting trust in the "walk-ins welcome" sign, hoping they can squeeze you in. You step inside the elevator, close the door behind you, and wait as you travel upwards.
