It was a Friday afternoon and I was walking home from school. Normally a kid would be happy since it’s the weekend, but i forgot to mention it was the last day of school. So I’m extremely looking forward to sleeping all day and playing video games.
“I’m home!” I yelled as I opened the door. My mother was at the dinner table with her work spread out. “Hey sweetly, how was school?” She asked. “It was pretty good. We didn’t have to do anything since it was the last day.” I told her. She nodded her head in response. Based on the amount of papers on her desk, I left her alone to finish. I went to my room and I got undressed from my uniform to just a pair of gym shorts and a tee. I turned on my pc and started to play some online games.
After a few hours, I heard my mom yell at me that dinner was ready. I turned off my pc and went to the table where my favorite food was served, Stromboli.
”Woah mom! What's the special occasion?” I asked. She looked puzzled, ”There's no special reason that I made these. I just got a craving for them, that's all.” ”Wait. If there's nothing special going on, then you must be wanting me to do something that I don't like.” she hid her face, signaling that I figured it out. ”What do you want me to do?” I asked. ”I'm so glad you asked. Tomorrow I'm taking you to get some summer clothes.” I shiver in horror at the idea of clothes shopping. Out of all the things she wanted, it had to be clothes shopping. ”Do I really have to go?” I complained. ”If you want to eat your favorite food then yes you do,” she states.
When I was finished eating my head started to hurt badly. I was about to look for a migraine pill when suddenly my mom grabbed me by the arm. ”Sorry sweety, but my work gave me a promotion and you were the only one who I could test their product on.” I stared blankly at her face until the room darkened.
