He looked around, hoping to find some way back into the house. He wriggled his dirt-stained toes.
He sighed. He pressed his face into his knees, and, trying to be brave like a kid after falling down, hugged his knees tightly.
it was then he saw the mailman coming up the path.
an idea hit him on the head: he could climb up the mailman, and slip into the postbox with any letters he was delivering.
Mr Todd hid. he could see the mailman was the size of an office building. he knew it was risky, but he had no other choice. he grabbed onto the mailbag, and clambered into it. he found a letter that was addressed to him. Mr Todd clung onto it, as the mailman picked him and the letter up, and put him and the letter through the letterbox.
"that was close." Mr Todd said.
