A rancid odor assualts your nose, causing you to squak. Glancing down, you spy half of what appears to be the last few bits of a discarded tuna-fish sandwich lying near the top of the bin. You hastily wonder what tuna fish will do to you. Hearing noises coming from inside you decide you don't have the time and begin peckishly picking at it with your beak. It takes a while to choke down the bits, what with your small beak, but you eventually manage to get it all down.
A heat rushes over you and you ruffle your feathers, jumping down from the crate. Your body suddenly starts expanding outward, becoming thicker and longer. You feel your wings regain their length, thickening and pushing outward. Appendages appear back on the end, gradually swelling up and popping into paws. The extra weight causes you to fall forward, your distinctive tail stuck up in the air. Meanwhile, your legs thicken as well, scaly toes rounding out and growing larger, retaining the claws.
You body grows longer, pushing your front half forward, away from your legs. It swells out, taking on a thicker, more quadrapedal shape. Your long, graceful neck is pulled back into your body until it's average length. Your head grows larger and explodes outward, your beak becoming fleshy and thick, pushing out farther as a traingle nose forms on the end of it. Whiskers shoot out of the sides of your new muzzle as your ears reappear, triangular, on the sides of your head.
You feel another wave of hear and watch as the upper half of your body, the blue feathers, is swept up and replaced with blue fur. You feel your tail growing smaller, becoming a little more straight. You grow a little larger and more feline for the next few moments when the changes suddenly stop.
You try to vocalize and find you now meow. Getting to all fours confirms your suspicion. Your general body shape and most features now resemble a cat. However, you look strange. For one thing, you still have your peacock tail instead of a typical cat one, albeit smaller and less flamboyant. Your hind legs and most of your body is still covered with shiny green and blue feathers, while your front legs and everything after that is covered in blue fur, including your face, head, neck, and chest.
You try to rationalize why you now resemble a peacock draped over a cat's body. Trying out your tail you find you can still stand it up proudly behind you like when you were a complete bird. Your feathers ruffle more that your fur and tickle you every once in a while. Maybe because you only ate some of the sandwich you couldn't be turned into a cat all the way...
Dismayed but somewhat appreciative of your unique new form, you try to decide what to do next.
