Jared woke, and stretched, and found himself sprawled across Eyrick's legs at the foot of the bed. He quickly became excited, but his boyfriend seemed to be sleeping soundly. Jared decided not to wake him.
Besides, his mouth tasted stale. "Oh god," he thought, concerned, at the thought of really bad morning breath. He had no idea the staleness came from a month of no brushing of teeth and weeks of eating nothing but dog food.
As he continued to throw off his grogginess, Jared also realized he was naked. He looked at Eyrick's sleeping form. What he could see not concealed by the covers suggested Eyrick might be in a similar state. Had they enjoyed another night together?
The 17-year-old eased off the bed and crept across the floor to reach the adjacent bathroom. There he found a bottle of mouthwash and began swishing a cup of the mint-flavored liquid in his mouth. After he spit, he realized his throat felt parched. Before he knew it, he was kneeling in front of the toilet bowl.
"What the hell?" Jared came to his senses before he lowered his head into the bowl. He scrambled back to his feet and walked over to the sink and poured a glass of water. "What the hell caused that?"
Maybe, he thought, it was just something residual from a night as a dog. He wished he could remember. He walked stealthily back into the bedroom and looked for his clothes. He didn't find them.
He gazed at Eyrick's sleeping form and smiled. He decided to slip back beneath the covers with the handsome wizard.
