~Author's Note: I find it hard for me to type using the character's name, so I am switching to "I" in an etempt to make this portion of the story sound more 'smooth'. Thank you, and sorry that I'm not that great at spelling.~
By that night, I had already noticed a change. My vision had seemed to improve imensly, and although I had warn glasses most of my life, I no longer needed them.
'In fact', I thought, startled, 'It feels as if my eyes have changed completely!'
I stumbled around, millions of different nonblury colors streaming into my mind all fighting for my attention. Even someone with perfect eyesight should never have been able to see This well. Quickly, I went to look for a mirror, not surprised that I would probably find it easy to "see".
Suddenly, my newish cabin lit up in a final burst of perfect vision!
I stopped, stunned beyond recognition. I could see everything! And I mean literally each and every single and mixed color around me.
This was terrible. I needed to find that mirror imeediently!
Finally catching sight of what I was looking for, I proceeded to gaze into it...
What I saw, greatly disturbed me. The face that stared back at me was clearly mine, from the look of horror printed on it, but I certainly did not even remotely recognize myself. it apeared to not just be my eyes changing, but my entire face.
I snapped my eyes shut from the refection in the mirror. It was several minutes later before I reopened them.
Even though my whole cabin was pitch black, except my still humming computer, it seemed bright as day.
Then something ucured to me: How would my eyes react to actual sun-light?
I supposed what I should have been wondering was: What exactly was this super virus transforming me into?
If I couldn't stand day-light, would I have to become like a vampire? Or was I actually turning into a vampire?
All these thoughts were quite depressing.
I had to come up with an anti-virus, and fast...
Zooming to my ready-to-go-and-waiting desk top, I began typing my symptoms as quickly as I could, trying to think of possible counters to them.
Below is what I put:
- Symptoms to escaped virus, for Darrell E. Smith -
No, it sounded like I was some pet or something:
- Assumed Symptoms to Recently Escaped Monster Virus -
'Much better', I thought:
- #1; Eye sight increses rapidly, ableing victim to see in darkness as if it were bright as day. -
I slowing peered back at the mirror, wishing I never had to look in it again, and added:
- Eyes of victim also turn into pure, glowing, white lights. -
No wonder I could see so well.
I had a super bright flash light wherever and whenever I looked.
I sighed.
'I guess I'll just wait for the rest to start,' I almost whispered aloud.
Figuring I aut to try and make the best of things, I made myself a nice cup of coffee and heated up some hopefully-still-good left-over food packages I found in the cabin. I was already transforming into a monster by the looks of it, so it really didn't matter to me wether or not I got some sort of food poisoning.
All of a sudden, something felt off. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but there was defiantly something wrong, so to say.
I glanced down at my hand. It was to kind of feeling you get when you feel, almost, see through...
I screamed.
My hand had turned a jet black color that was now spreading throughout my entire body. My hair turned dark as shadows. My clothes seemed to melt into my skin, yet I felt no pain. Soon my face was so dark that I couldn't even see my features, even with my new "awesomish" vision.
I was now totally, completely, certainly made of shadows.
Going back to the mirror, I just stared for seven minutes, taking it all in.
I couldn't scream, I couldn't smile, and I couldn't touch a single thing; even the shadows themselves.
I was just darkness, unable to really do anything accept think and look around with what I guess passed as a blank expression.
but yet, looking back at the mirror, one could almost read my mind, just by looking into my eyes.
Yes, this was quite disturbing indeed.
Thankfully it looked as if the transformation was complete.
I sighed. at least this solved my problem of not being able to see in day light, since no one would want to be around me anyways. At last I tried to speak, but all that came out was a faint whispery noise like wind.
What in the world would I, or more likely could I, do next? ...
