It was a stormy day, rain was hitting the roof of the apartment complex with no mercy, sounds of thunder could be heard thrashing and crashing about. It was a perfect day for two best friends to enjoy a day in front of the TV.
MaKenna and Mia were long time best friends, they knew each other since diapers! MaKenna is a 16 year old girl with black shoulder length hair, a larger figure but not overweight, a strong interest in the strange and paranormal, and avid gamer. Mia was a nice compliment to MaKenna, she was 15 (Something MaKenna liked to tease her about being the older one), a more petite build with long blonde hair down to her lower back, she is upbeat and always happy to do almost any activity, and while she may not be as nerdy as MaKenna she always enjoys tagging along for whatever activities her friend has planned.
The two friends were currently cuddled up together under a warm blanket in front of the TV, both holding cups of warm cocoa while Supernatural played on the screen, MaKenna's choice of course. The two were alone tonight, something they didn't plan but they didn't mind, MaKenna's mother was currently stuck at work at the Airport, the weather causing massive delays and issues, so she had texted her daughter letting her know they could order pizza and she wouldn't be home until late that night. As the show continued each was cautiously taking sips as the show was approaching a suspenseful moment, the ghost could appear at any moment, closer and closer the characters crept when suddenly.... DING DONG! Both girls jumped, someone had rung the doorbell, a marshmallow or two escaping with drops of hot cocoa but no major spills luckily. Both girls looked at each other.
"Who could be at the door? Your mom?" Mia questioned, looking down to examine her lap for spills.
"Why would she ring the doorbell? She owns the place!" MaKenna who has spilled the most of the two stood up, setting her cup down on the coffee table.
"Well whoever it is slap em for me, they made me pee a little" Mia joked.
MaKenna started walking towards the door, laughing at her friends comment. She peered out the eye-peek but saw nothing, not a single person. She slowly unlocked the door and peeked through the small opening. No one was there, not even hiding by the wall, all that was there was a small brown parcel. She opened the door and stepped outside, looking down the stairs from her apartment, still no sign of a person. She turned back and picked up the package, closing and locking the door behind her as she stepped inside. She made her way to the kitchen table and set it down.
"Who was it?" Mia called, still engrossed in the show.
"Uhhh no one, just some mail I guess but...." MaKenna looked at the shipping label and read the names. "...It's addressed to us??"
Mia slowly turned and rose off the couch, ditching her blanket and making her way around to the kitchen to join her friend. "Us? But.... I don't even live here, how could I be included in that?"
"I don't know... but whatever it is we should find out" MaKenna started ripping into the package, tearing off brown paper and eventually opening a white cardboard box. Inside was a small ray, about the size of a handgun, bright red and looked like it belonged to an alien. The sides of the ray had multiple dials and buttons reading various things such as "Age" or "Clothes" and more. She picked it up with a confused look, then back in the box, no note or anything.
"What is it?" Mia asked, looking just as confused.
"How the heck should I know? It looks like a kids toy" MaKenna retorted.
"Oh no! Are you gonna zap me with it! ahhhh" Mia playfully remarked, she turned and began look like an over exaggerated version of someone running in a horror movie, only more slowly.
"Damn straight! Imma shoot that cute butt of yours!" MaKenna start 'firing' the ray at Mia, making "Pew pew!" noises until suddenly her finger hit the trigger, a bright pink flash shot out from the ray hitting Mia.
