Now that Project Dinotopia was officially unveiled, it was one of the more popular projects, not that others were neglected. But that didn't mean that other projects weren't neglected, just restricted.
Project Hermaphroditus was an excellent example of a restricted project, mainly because of the greater hormonal flux that herms seemed to have. But there was also the fact that there weren't many requests for animals other than hyenas and horses. Fortunately, when Dr. Jones wasn't meeting with patients, he was helping filter results. Though most of them tended to be those that suffered from "black market butchery", as Dr. Jones called it for the records department.
"How are we doing today?" asked the maternity nurse assigned to the Anaconda triumvirate on one visit.
"As well as we'll ever be." replied Lily, glad that their maternity beds had built-in heat and massage.
"Dr. Jones said to show you this website address." said the nurse, "Also your ultrasound results are in. Of the six in each of you, two of them are confirmed to have two heads."
"Boy, lucky us." said Ty, sarcastically. After they went to the website, it made them feel a lot better because it was about animals who almost had it as bad as they did.

There were other amusing events during the Animalia Summer Events, and not just in Animalia and Lyre:
At Mieni Atoll, for example, the start of the summer tourist season was accompanied with the usual allowance of either guys hitting on female Animalians and either biting off more than they could chew and ending up "on the rocks" due to hitting on the wrong females or failing spectacularly at trying to impress available singles.

Irena and Tyler were planning their first date which was both a vacation and an inspection/survey of Skull Island before giving it to Dinotopia Aquatica. According to the records obtained from Spain, Skull Island was selected as the Alcatraz of the Colonial Spanish Empire for the same reason that Alcatraz was for America. It was a large island made of solid stone that was also resistant to hurricanes at the time, which is why the Spanish dumped their most dangerous colonial convicts there at the time. Also, because of its location, it was a good place to store food, water, and Spanish gold for ships traveling to and from Europe at the time, rather like a colonial era truck stop. This also explained, in part, why illegal treasure hunters/grave robbers were often caught there.

The uplifting of the coelacanths, as part of Dinotopia Aquatica, also helped solve some evolution theories, whether by confirming or debunking those theories. It was a little disconcerting watching the coelacanths' lobed fins changing into humanoid limbs, but it did help explain how the uplifting of fish Animalians worked. While the scientist who documented the "accelerated evolution" of the coelacanths described it as 'interesting. And odd. And oddly interesting. And slightly disturbing.' (Another scientist said that his colleague enjoyed playing Elder Scrolls Online in his spare time as an explanation for his review), the end result was that both male and female coelacanths were in the heavyweight build of Animalian.

One surprising thing (by our standards) was when Buford and Aleta were approached by a representative for Twin Lab, who had just finished a new protein powder for Animalians (as well as two different "mixtures" for males and females) and were looking for someone to sponsor. After they showed Aleta their Meat Muscle commercial, which all the predator Animalians thought was hilarious when they saw it, both Buford and Aleta decided to accept the offer. After "taste-testing" the new powder, they learned that Twin Lab had decided to cover up the "bad" taste that other Animalians complained about with other products by squeezing the "juice" out of lean meat to cover it up for carnivores.

Another thing that was discovered was that the Inaugural Mesozoic Fight Club Indominus Vs Spinosaurus match was already selling tens of thousands of dollars in preorder tickets. This prompted both Heather and Regina to double down on their training, but it also resulted in an upsurge of fan mail. To make it a little more amusing, the creepier fan mail was put in bags marked biohazard and "disposed of" by people wearing hazmat disposal outfits, which seemed to make it even funnier than intended.
