Chastity went inside her house, only to find that no one was there. Her monster was having a meeting with the council and her father was away on a excursion with the younger students in her school. She was an only child, meaning she didn't have really anyone to talk to face-to-face. She walked up stairs to her room, laid in her bed and checked her phone for minutes on end.
Her phone's battery died out. Chastity's parents were still not there. No way to contact her friends in the way she wanted. "I wish that I had someone to talk to" sighed Chastity.
Chastity then felt something, some feeling that she experienced early today. The feeling grew and felt like it was spreading even outside her body, and after a jolt of energy, she almost collapsed into the floor. Regaining her balance, she rubbed her head with her palm.
"What was that?" she said to herself. "No idea, whatever it was, it was certainly powerful" a voice spoke out. Chastity froze. No one was in the house. No one in sight. And it didn't sound like her parents. She turned around.
Nothing.
"Oh, thank god. I thought I was hallucinating. Maybe I'm just a bit paranoid..." She calmly said to herself. "I thought I was speaking to you". She froze again. "Yeah, you were speaking to her, it's a bit rude to not reply, isn't it?" another voice spoke out. Her eyes widened. "Hey, how you guys doing?" "Not bad, how are you up there?" more voices continued to speak. Chastity tried her hardest to look up, but her fear of not knowing who's talking slowed her down. "Bit nervous actually, it's not great up here" "Sorry to hear that" "It's alright" the voices continued to have a conversation. Chastity tried to look at the source of the voices, if there was a radio plugged in and turned on and she didn't realise, or something wasn't turned off in the other room. She noticed that the lamp was slightly moved. Maybe something was hiding behind her bedside table. She moved slowly closer and closer to the table, and almost leaped to just see what could be speaking.
"Nothing" she said to herself. The lamp on her table moved as the bulb flashed to the words "What about nothing?". Chastity screamed and accidentally pushed herself to the ground. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" the lamp concernedly asked. Chastity was shocked, slowing pushing herself back with her hands and feet. She clumsily grasped a chair, and lifted it so the four legs towards the lamp. The lamp cocked it's head and blinked. Chastity felt the chair squirming, trying to escape. She screamed and let go of the chair. The chair landed on it's side. "What do you think you are doing?" the chair question. Chastity replied with another scream. She backed away until she hit the wardrobe. "Ow. What the hell! I thought you had more respect for me, Chastity?" the wardrobe said in a deep tone of voice. She backed away from the wardrobe and stood in the centre of her bedroom. "W-w-wh-what's happening?! What's happening to me?!" shouted Chastity. The chair flipped itself back into standing position and walked over to Chastity. "Here, have a seat". the chair said. She turned around to see the chair close to her and jumped. "What's going on?! I want an answer!" Chastity yelled, trying hard not to cry out of fear. "Well, we really don't have an answer for you" the lamp said, as the other objects around the room gathered to look upon the scared Chastity in concern. Chastity looked around and saw the moving objects around the room gathering a distance away from her feet. "How are you guys talking to me?" Chastity asked. "We really don't know, honest" said the clock that was next to the lamp in a high-pitched voice. "I'm going mad, I'm going loony, I'm going completely round the twist!" repeatedly mumbled Chastity as she paced around the room.
And then she stopped. "The wish!" Chastity realised "I wished to talk to someone!". "The wish?!" replied all the objects. "I wished that I could talk to someone and the wish must of got lost in translation!" answered Chastity. "How so?" questioned the lamp. "Well... you're things, you're objects, you don't have stuff that...uh...w-we have, I guess" Chastity responded. "We have names" the shelf replied. "Yeah, product names. Not actual names" she said. "Not exactly true, you've given us names... Remember Lila? Your dog?" replied the desk. Chastity didn't have a pet, she wondered what the desk meant, until she saw Lila. Lila was her childhood plush dog that she had since kindergarden, she lost it when she was 7 and she never forgot about it. Lila walked out from under the bed, whimpering like a baby canine. Chastity had tears from her eyes, she couldn't handle this. She was heading for the door. "Wait, where are you going?" asked the lamp. "I am going to April's house" whispered Chastity, as she rushed out of her house.
"Come on. We have to follow her!" said the lamp. Most of the objects gathered towards the door and hopped, skipped, rolled and jumped out the door to catch up with Chastity.
