"So...." Mr. Garrison asked, tapping his fingers on his counter, looking at the boy in front of him. "You want to buy one of my costumes?"
"Yes, please!" Edwin Dias said, nodding his head profusely, showing the adult how much money he had.
"Hold on to that money..." Mr. Garrison said, to Edwin's relief. "As the owner of this shop, I declare everything is free... as long as I decide so."
"Decide so?" Edwin asked. "How will you decide with me then?"
"Well, tell me your story. Why did you come here?"

"Whoa, you're inviting me to your costume party?" Edwin asked, nearly falling backwards into his locker. "Are you serious?"
Jim Steele, the most popular guy in Edwin's grade, scoffed. "Ugh, yes. Just bring your sister along, allright?"
Dawn Dias, Edwin's adopted sister, grinned, leaning on Edwin's shoulder. "I'd love to be there!"
Jim smirked, before walking off. "Well, see you two dweebs there...."
Dawn watched him go with a smile on her face, while Edwin sighed, putting his books away into his locker.
"Hey, big bro?" She asked, noticing his mood. "What's the matter?"
Edwin looked at her, biting his lip. "It kinda hurts, you know? The only reason I was invited was you....."
Dawn frowned, giving her brother a hug. "So you're not going to the party?"
Edwin sighed, returning the hug. "I don't kmow.... if I go, I'll just keep this sense of not belonging there."
"Then how about you try to stand out?" Dawn said, getting a plan. "It's a costume party, so get the best costume you can muster!"
"And where would I find that?" Edwin asked, intrigued as to what his sister was thinking about.
"Heh, I know just the place!"

"So, you want to stand out, do you?" Mr. Garrison asked, somewhat amused by the story. "Well, I guess I'll allow you to buy my costumes."
"Really?" Edwin asked, excited.
"Yes, but..." The adult said, holding up his hand. "You are aware of what my costumes do, yes?"
"Yeah...." Edwin said, blushing. "Dawn and I like that kind of stuff..."
"Very well, then." Mr. Garrison said, chuckling. "Go ahead and choose a costume."
Edwin grinned, looking at the costumes around him. He decided on a....
