Katie had no idea her choices could create such big changes. Well, she could use powerful reality-altering magic, but she didn't know she could possibly create entire other realities. Of course, it would take a major change to create an entire new reality. And Katie wasn't about to do something as outrageous as unbirthing her own mother. Even the other Kellie wasn't able to give a good reason why she did that. "I guess I was angry and wanted to teach them a lesson. But I went too far and I can't even remember what I was thinking," she said, "All I know is that it cost me a lot and I've been doing all I can to make up for it."
Of course, Kellie wasn't the biggest chance in that alternate reality. Kellie had been trying to make friends with her old friends, but it wasn't quite so easy since they were different people here. Kellie even introduced Katie to her friends. Since the other girls were having trouble grasping that their Kellie was really from another timeline, Katie decided to make things a little simpler by putting a little perception charm on herself. The other girls would meet her, treat her as nothing very unusual, and will only have a vague memory of Katie after she left.
Samantha's change was pretty big, a bit literally. Katie hadn't expected any of her friends to change ethnicity, but Samantha was clearly half-Samoan. Katie saw Sam's father and he was a pretty big guy himself. It was small wonder that Sam was a mini-giantess and bound to get bigger.
Katie expected Kumiko and Mika to have a close relationship, but Katie wasn't expecting anything this close. Instead of being Mika's aunt, Kumiko was now her twin. They were both looking hotter than Katie had expected as well. Though this might be because they weren't as purebred Japanese as they were in her reality. But at least Mika's family was a lot more accepting of non-Asians and didn't disown Mika for dating Claudia.
Claudia was a bit of a shock. It wasn't really her change in appearance but her change in personality. Though this was due to a combination of her father getting severely maimed during his last tour of duty and a nasty fallout between Claudia and Mary Elise. It was rather disheartening to hear that Mary Elise was no longer these girls' friends, even if Kellie was working on fixing it.
It was a little too awkward for Katie to meet her alternate self right now, especially since her perception charm wouldn't likely work on her. But it was weird to hear this version now had Lisa for a twin sister while they were being raised by Ann. Katie did intend to meet her other self eventually, but this wasn't a good time.
Kellie also told Katie of one of the other reason there have been other changes to this timeline. Apparently Merlin's archenemy, Morgan le Fay, had been trying to target her friends through their mothers. Samantha's mother was lucky enough to wish for her ideal husband with good taste. Claudia and Mary Elise's mothers weren't so careful with their wishes, which ended up with the husbands crippled by a bomb and killed in a car accident respectively. And while Kellie couldn't prove it, she suspected that Morgan might have caused the accident that killed Katie and Lisa's mom as well.
"You should watch your back," said Kellie, "Morgan might try to go after you too."
"She won't be able to get me that easily," said Katie, "I do have a magic necklace. I'm pretty sure it protects me from what she can do." She fingered the necklace at her throat as she spoke. At first, she thought Kellie was looking at the necklace, but it seemed she was a little more interested in Katie's body. "I grew up well, didn't I?" she asked.
Kellie jerked her head up, blushing noticeably. "Er, I wasn't staring," she said.
"Relax, I'm marrying your alternate. I know what you were thinking," said Katie, "You know, you could age yourself up and we could have a little fun."
"Er...that'd be...a little...too weird," said Kellie, trying to pretend she wasn't aroused.
"True. Does it really count as cheating on your fiance if you're with her alternate self?" asked Katie.
"I don't know. Does it?" asked Kellie.
"Well, either way, I'm not doing it. Well, unless my Kellie says so. Inter-dimensional trysts sound complicated enough," said Katie.
"I can agree with you there," said Kellie.
"Well, I'll be sure to visit you again. Or you visit me. Whichever's more convenient," said Katie.
"Do you think you could...talk to Mary Elise?" asked Kellie.
"I could, but I think that's supposed to be your thing to deal with. I'm not sure what exactly, but I'm sure it has something to do with cleaning up your own messes and such. I can offer advice, but I think you should do that on your own," said Katie.
"Fair enough," said Kellie.
