You park the Audi and your dad rushes from the passenger seat to inspect his car. "No scratches, no dents, no dirt..." You feel embarrassed that your own father feels your incapable of driving. 'Good Job son" He says smiling. The two of you then make your way to the sidewalk. Main Street was a row of stores side by side and the store you bought the magic socks from was at the very end.
You take a long time, continously stopping to catch your breath and wipe off sweat. Meanwhile your dad seems to race with energy stopping at stores windows and racing ahead only to come back. You frown. But then remember in a few minutes you'll be back to normal.
Lost in thought you bump into a man. You both fall down and when you get up you see the man you bumped into is actually your gym teacher, Mr. Braun. "Sorry" you say helping him up. Mr. Braun was a bit intimidating standing at 6' 6" with a body of a professional wrestler.
"No problem, I wasn't looking where I was going" He says. By now you dad has come back from his run and sees you talking to your old gym teacher. "Hey Michael" he says. Mr.Braun looks confused. "Do I know you?" He says. His glare suddenly reminds you how much of a bully Mr. Braun is. Perhaps he acts differently to adults but to kids he was just plain awful.
Memories of him calling you a wimp and making you do extra laps for unfair reasons come back to you. Now that you were in this body you could probably do something. "Excuse me, do you have a problem with my "son"?" You say. Mr. Braun looked at you bewildered. As if he had never heard amother adult speak up to him.
"No, I'm sorry it's just that he said my name" Mr. Braun said. "Actually Michaels my name" You lie. "Oh really, sorry here I know how to make things up." Mr. Braun pulls out a card. "I'm a professional trainer so stop by the gym and I'll give you a few free sessions" You take the card. "Thanks" You say annoyed. You both begin to make you way when Mr. Braun taps your shoulder. "Listen . I'm sorry how I acted...call me I'll make it up to you" He whispers and winks before walking away.
Did your gym teacher just flirt? Who knew he likes guys like your Dad or in your case you with a dad's body. By now your dad had grown impatient. "Will we need to hurry or it may grow dark" you see you dad's point. It was nearly seven and several stores closed by seven-thirty.
You two make it to the magic store and step inside. The same man is standing behind the counter and clothes are still spread out. "Excuse me sir we have a problem" You tell the man. You then explain everything that happened with your father jumping in from time to time.
"Don't worry I can fix this" He says. The man turns off the lights and places his fingers on the forehead of your dad and you. "Lleo Moes Biklt" He chants and the room grows white before dimming.
"What did you do?" You ask. "I altered reality, now no one will know about the changes in fact the two of you should forget your past lives right about...now!" Suddenly your mind grows foggy. Then you remember everything again. You had taken your son, John shopping. New memories fill your head and you are none the wiser.
"Son, are you going to choose something you want?" You ask him. Your son nods his head. "Yeah I want these socks" Your son grabs a pair of socks with a green seam. "Now those are a very special pair of socks" the man says laughing. You look at your son confused but take out your wallet and buy the socks.
"See you again" the man says as you both leave. Your walk away and your son tells you "That was really weird" You nod. "People here can sure be strange" You then make you way to your Audi. You begin to drive as John takes out his new socks and puts them on.
