Josh was skeptical. Very skeptical. He had seen all kinds of conspiracy theories, and this sure seemed like one. Come on, a book that can change reality?
Josh flipped the pages to see pages of empty paper, all in surprisingly good condition.
Josh heard a loud noise. It was from across the room. It was a sophomore, Terry, who had knocked over some books and began to laugh about it with a buddy. Terry lived in the dorm building across from Josh. However, Josh was unlucky enough to have his window exactly across front Terry’s, and due to the buildings close range often heard Terry throwing unusually large and loud parties for such a small space.
Josh was very jealous of Terry. He had most things that he did not, money, muscle, friends, and popularity. He was dumb as a doorknob otherwise.
Josh grabbed a nearby pencil and wrote, ‘Terry is extremely modest and will help out in any situation no matter how small. He is often quiet and reserved.”
Josh closed the book and turned to Terry. All of a sudden he could see Terry scolding his friend and picking up the fallen books. Nearby, a student dropped their pencil onto the ground. Terry practically jumped over to pick it up for her before returning to the shelf.
Josh became confused. Terry never acted like this. Josh looked back at the book, opening it to his page. There he took his pencil and erased the message. Where his pencil normally left small marks from erasing, the paper once again looked flawless.
A loud noise permeated the library as Terry knocked over an entire bookshelf, much to the dismay of the poor librarian.
Josh looked at the book. It was true. It could change reality. He grabbed it and ran, avoiding the detectors and the eye of the distracted librarian. Josh walked across town, coming to his single roomed dorm and sat on his bed in his cramped room, flipping over the book, wondering what to do with it.
