Others might have taken those most obvious of choices: strength and brawn, flight or even mastery of the elements. But not you, no.
You would be the fastest woman alive.
Selecting a female avatar, you input power over speed and mass, hands flying over the keyboard as you entered the details.
With equal speed you pour over the physique of your character. While the archetypal superhero might have an eye-catching build, you change much of that default. From the tall frame and long legs to the narrow, almost boyish physique, even the most minor details are optimized for speed.
When you’re finished, a hero stares back from the screen with emerald eyes. The end result is just shy of six feet tall, with a tightly toned build, hints of coiled muscle waiting beneath the surface.
Her head is crowned by a messed pixie cut of crimson hair. Her face still carries the shine of youth, no older than her mid-twenties, with a cute button nose and a wide smile. The kind of face that makes people around her just want to smile back.
That just leaves the costume.
In this as well you are purposeful. You select a skintight suit, every inch of skin beneath your avatar’s chin covered by the shiny material. Flexible running treads are integrated into the soles of the suit, while her hands are covered by built in gloves.
For the color scheme, you select a vibrant blue offset by white piping. Even standing still, it looks like she’s running a hundred miles per hour. That and it makes the crimson locks stand out even more.
To top it all off you add a mirrored visor over her eyes, both to conceal her identity and to keep the wind out.
Satisfied with your choices, you spin the camera around your avatar one more time. A deep breath later and you hit enter.
