Gloria sprinted for the backyard, her face flushing im embarassment. While Nate had not been her first kiss, it had been the first boy she really liked kissing her. Standing in the cool autumn air she now tried to regain her composure.
"Hey you alright?"
Gloria squeaked in surprise as she spun around. "Nate," she said breathlessly. The handsome young teen now smiled shyly, slowly approaching her. "Sorry," he said. "Didn't mean to startle you. It's just....you ran out so quickly thought I might of done something wrong."
"No," she said quickly. "No it wasn't you...its just..um..." Gloria trailed off as she adverted her eyes from her crush. "Sorry," she said meekly. "I'm um....usually better than this...i uh...I was..kimda surprised to see you thats all."
Nate smiled warmly as he now stood next to Gloria. "Well I heard you might be having a party and I uh kind of was hoping to to see you." Now it was Nates turn to blush as he shuffled his feet, trying to avoid making eye contact with Gloria.
The two young teens now shyly looked at eachother, giggling softly bwfore turning away. Neither one seemed to be able to come up with anything to say.
"Yo bro," a voice boomed. "Whatcha doing out here." Gloria and Nate turned, groaning as they saw Nates brother Adam standing on the back porch.
Unlike his now twin Adam was close to 6 feet tall with a surprising amount of muscle on his 14 year old frame. As Gloria's memories adjusted she remembered that Adam was a star football player, despite only being a freshman. The teen had played games for varsity already and pulled double duty by being the star linebacker on the freshman football team. Adam had let his success go to his head, the boy enjoyed tormenting those he saw as weaker and was even dating Gloria's bullies at school. As he looked at his brother and Gloria he frowned.
"Dude seriously," he groaned. "What are you doing talking with the queen of the geeks?"
Gloria lowered her head as Nates face turned crimson. "Shes not a geek Adam," he sighed. "I mean it is here party, and a pretty good one if I do say so myself."
"Yeah whatever man," Adam sighed. "Listen man save your breath she aint putting out. If you really want to lose that v card I can introduce you to a couple chicks I know."
Gloria felt her eyes dampen as Adam continued to belittle her. Turning meekly to Adam she sniffed before qorking up enough courage to answer. "You kmiw nobody invited you," she spat. "You want to leave go ahead no ones going to miss you."
"I would but my bro here actually likes you," Adam retorted. "I keep telling him your nothing but a dick tease though. You and your geek friemds are probably just a bunch of rugmunchers like that sister of yours."
"Adam," Nate yelled. "Will you just stop! Just....leave me alone okay? Go...hangout somewhere else."
Adam grunted leaving his brother and Gloria alone once more. As Natw looked at Gloria he could see a single tear slowly trickling down her cheek. "Gloria," he said sadly. "Im sorry. Adam....Adam can be a dick. Its hard to think were actually related sometimes."
Gloria nodded sadly as she turned away from Nate. "Its...its okay," she whispered. "I mean...hes right. Im a geek....you..you probably would have more fun with someone else."
Nate paused as he hearf her sniff sadly. Slowly he placed his hand on her shoulder so that she now faced him. Placing his hand under her chin he lifted her head up, looking into her eyes. "Personally Id rather hangout with you," Nate smiled as he placed a tender, yet passionate kiss on Gloria's lips.
Glorias heart skipped several beats as she wrapped her hands aroumd Nate. As the two parted, she smiled shyly wiping tears from her eyes. Wiping her hamd on her costume she slowly took Nates hand as the two now headed back inside.
