It was a bright sunny day, and Ben Jones could've been anywhere else than he was now. In fact, he had half a mind to run for his life immediately.
He was walking along the outskirts of town, with his friends, on some idiotic quest. There was Edwin Dias, his best friend, Dawn Dias, Edwin's younger adopted sister, Maria Ramos, Edwin's girlfriend, and Katherine Santos, someone who Ben hoped to make his girlfriend.
Apparently there was this magical carnival that Edwin and Dawn had found out about, one that could change the way one saw the world around them. Ben, Maria, and Katherine saw through this immediately, Edwin and Dawn just really loved anything to do with transformation.
The carnival supposedly came for once a year, then left until the next year. If you didn't get whatever change you had reversed by the time they left, you would simply have to wait....
Maria somewhat shared Edwin and Dawn's enthusiasm, but Ben and Katherine were simply dragged along for the ride against their will.
"Come on Edwin," Ben muttered, the summer heat getting to him. "There's no way this thing exists."
"Can you be quiet?" Edwin said, currently bickering with his little sister over where the circus was. "I'm trying to-"
Edwin was cut off, as the carnival was currently right in front of them, a multitude of tents and attractions having been set up in front of them.
"That wasn't there before!" Katherine said, in disbelief.
"Well, duh!" Dawn said in a cheeky tone, her light brown hair swaying just above her shoulders. "It's magic!"
The 5 of them stared at the circus for a few minutes, before a tall man came up behind them, wearing a large top hat. "Why hello there!" He said, startling them.
"What the hell are you doing?" Ben asked backing up quickly, balling up his fists.
"Don't be so quick to fight!" Maria chided, a frown on her face.
"Listen to your friend, there's no need to fear!" The man said, a mischievous grin on his face. "I am the Ringmaster of the Carnival of Change!"
"Carnival of Change?" Edwin asked, getting excited. "You're not lying about that?"
"Why would I?" The Ringmaster said, gesturing to the carnival site, his hands glowing with magic. "Now what part of my carnival would you like to visit first?"
The friends looked at each other, silently agreeing to let Edwin choose.
"Um, how about.."
