Zack picked up a ring. It was shiny and silver. It held a pink gem, round and smooth like water almost. Zack could see his reflection perfectly in it. He had a pimple, he’d have to do something about that later.
Zack breathed in a heavy sigh and put the ring on. He felt a pain in every joint of his body. His arms, elbows, fingers, neck, ears, knees, and everywhere else. Then he felt a pop, and the pain was gone.
The other guys gasped. Zack turned towards the mirror but his head spun around, as if it kept going and didn’t stop. Slowly, he figured out how to move it easily and looked again to see what had happened to him.
It appeared that every joint in his body was now separated, but floated near each other almost uniformly. His sleeves lay limp as his arms floated in three pieces, his upper arm, lower arm, and hand. And the hands too. The fingers were disconnected, each one having its ligaments. His head floated above his chest, his ears surprisingly away from his face. His legs floated in three parts as well beneath him, with the toes of his feet separated. His feet floated off the ground, leaving Zack in an odd zero gravity state.
Zack reached up with his arm to try and reach between his head and torso, but he ended up spewing his arm everywhere.
“AH!” Max cried out as a finger unexpectedly shot over into his eye. It, along with the rest eventually came back to reform his “arm.”
“Can you like, feel anything?” Luke asked.
“It’s weird,” Zack explained. “And whenever I try to move anything it flies off.”
Mark stood up and approached Zack. He swatted Zack’s upper left arm down, just to see what would happen. It fell but bounced off the ground as if in zero gravity. The rest of his arm stayed in place, and eventually the rest of it returned.
“Hmm” Zack thought curiously. “Mark could you please take the ring off? I’m afraid to move, and I’d like to be able do interact normally again.”
Mark obliged and Zack’s limbs flashed a pink light and fused together simultaneously. Zack fell to the ground, stubbing his toe.
“Urgh,” he muttered.
Luke took the ring and placed it down on his bed. How would you even describe this ring? He simply wrote, “Floating Body.”
“Right!” Luke said clapping his hands together. “You’ve had your floaty fun, and the twins had some fusion, so it’s my turn!”
