It was 10:00 pm and Mason was going window to window as quiet as he could. He first stopped by Adam’s house.
”Adam!” Mason whispered, but he knew his friend wouldn't hear him. He grabbed a pebble and threw it up to Adam’s window. ”Adam!” he whispered again, hoping his friend would answer.
Mason repeated this process until he got a text message
Adam: bro stop throwing rocks at my window I'll be ready in a minute
Mason: why didn't you at least open the window to tell me that
Adam: because we have phones
Mason: but that defeats the whole purpose of being secret.
Mason heard a noise coming from Adam’s window. He looked up as saw him climbing out of it. When he landed on the ground, they greeted each other and went to go get everyone else.
”Ok I'll go knock on Amy’s window while you get Pat’s,” Mason told him. ”Nah, I just texted them and they agreed to wait outside their yard to avoid property damage from you.” he said.
Once everyone was grouped together, they all headed towards the mansion. When they arrived at the doorstep, the mahogany doors slowly opened on their on as if someone expected the teens.
”Nope fuck this, I'm out,” Pat said while walking away. Amy grabbed him by his collar and pulled him back. ”Come on Pat. We made a promise to Mason and we're going to keep that promise,” she said.
The three teens walked inside while Patrick was still being dragged. When they all stepped foot inside, everything looked alive. No signs of dust or aging anywhere. All the lights were on, the television was showing a game, and most of the furniture seemed brand new. Suddenly, the doors slammed shut on their own. This made all four of them panic
Adam and Mason ran to the door and attempted to open it, but nothing budged. ”Try the windows!” Adam commanded the other two. They grabbed the hardest thing they could find, and they slammed it into the window. Somehow, no signs of breaking appeared.
After many attempts to break out, the group admitted defeat. ”Ok hear me out. What if there is a telephone in the house. Maybe we could use it to have someone come to the door so it could open.” Amy suggested. Everyone liked her plan and agreed to it. ”We should split up to cover more ground, when you find something, bring it back here,” she says.
They all split up into four groups to find something faster. Amy went to the lower left wing, Patrick on the right, Adam looking in the main dining area, and Mason with the upstairs.
