After a relatively short, but memorable, stay in Mieni Atoll, it was time for the colony tour to move on to the next destination: the Lost City of Vilcabamba. The members of Animalia Ambassadoria were excited to go there as they hadn't been there since it was still under construction. Heather had a noticeable amount of trepidation about going there as it was so close to Costa Rica, though Jeremy assured her it would be alright.
It was a bit of a long flight, crossing the Pacific Ocean and over much of Central America and the Caribbean Sea. But they couldn't fly directly to Vilcabamba, considering it was well within the rainforest and no one was considering clearing out space for an airfield. So after landing at the Eduardo Gomes International Airport in Manuas, the Animalian vacationers will be taking a boat trip to the Animalian colony. The distance between Vilcabamba and Manuas wasn't too far, about an hour and a half. This made commuting and trading with Manuas rather feasible, which was a relief for those who prefer a more urban environment.
The treetop village was something that many have been looking forwards to, especially the more arboreal Animalians. Though the larger, heavier Animalians wouldn't likely be able to get up there. Housing for the bigger Animalians, such as some of the Dinotopians was a bit of a problem, but there were a few shacks built that were surprisingly comfortable on the inside. Vilcabamba was also making arrangements with Manuas to build a few condos in the city that were designed for larger Animalians.
It may be only a three-day stay, but there was certainly a lot to see in the Amazonian Rainforest. And after this, they'll be heading across the Atlantic Ocean to the African colonies.
