Erik was surprised as he led the cow down the street how no one seemed to find anything unusual about a boy with a shaggy cow walking down the street.
"Hey, mom, I'm home."
"Did you get a dog or a cat, Erik?" she asked coming out of the kitchen carrying the plate she was drying. "Yikes! A cow?"
CRASH. The plate shattered on the floor.
"Oh, Daphne is the perfect pet. Not only will she help keep the lawn under control, but she'll give milk," Erik said petting Devon's nob horned head.
No one noticed that when he touched Devon, both the cow's and Erik's eyes glowed violet.
The concern vanished from their mother's face. She smiled brightly.
"Fresh milk? Yes, Daphne will be the perfect pet for you."
"Right, so I should probably take her out back?" Erik said nervously. This was working even better than the old man at the pet shop said it would be. He squeezed his brother's neck, and said to his cow familiar, "I wish I had a proper barn to put you in, but-"
He stared, as he exited the backdoor, there was a barn in the backyard.
"Way too easy?" Erik said nervously.
They stepped into the barn, and closed the door, and Daphne became an anthrocow.
"Gooood wooork, Erk," Daphne said, "Ooooh," Daphne said fondling her swollen udder, "Uh, Erik, I think I need to be milked?"
Erik grinned, and picked up a bucket, and sat down at the stool. Devon resumed his cow form straddling the bucket.
"How hard could this be?" After five minutes, Daphne's udders were sore, the bucket was empty, and Erik's hands were cramping up.
Daphne moaned, and shifted into her anthrocow form, "Uh, why dooon't yooou wish yooou knew hooow to milk me prooooperly?"
"You think that will work?" Erik said with a shrug. "I wish I knew all about cow milking." He was sure he saw Daphne's eyes glow violet. Devon was sure that Erik's eyes glowed violet.
Suddenly, Erik knew what he was doing.
His hands moved like lightning. No longer tugging, but massaging Daphne's udders.
SPURT, SPURT, Spurt.
The bucket filled.
