In the dim light of the cocoon, you can make out the texture of dark hair on the back of your hands. You feel a strange, reducing feeling envelope your entire body, as your hands shrink away from your view, and your nose pushes out between your eyes. Losing the awareness you need to hold still, you writhe out of control as your shouts come out as trills. It feels as if your energy is being drained by the powder lining the walls of the cocoon.
Before you have time to comprehend your situation, you find yourself falling asleep.
You wake up in a place very unlike your bed, or even a hammock, in a form very unlike your own. Your arms are so tiny you feel like something's missing. The missing space is counterbalanced by a completely new sensation behind you. A tail! You swish it around, lazily and open your eyes. It wasn't a dream! An animal shout shoots out of your muzzle.
Your beady eyes pick up some motion in black and white. Someone had heard you! You squirm harder as a black claw pokes a hole in the mesh, shedding light on your stripey tail before spilling you out.
"Klaatu, It's awakened!", you hear a voice chirp out at the same level as your tiny ears as you right yourself. In your haze, all you notice is an innability to feel the cold metal floor on anything but your fore-paws due to a new layer of grey fur. "A human survived the process!"
