When the school day ended, Tad met Amy out front of the school so they could walk home together. Like always, the walk was filled with discussions between the two about various things, like weekend plans and, in this case, when they were going to meet tonight. Other than that, their walk home wasn't too eventful. When they got to the Decker household, Amy kissed Tad goodbye and said she'd meet him at 4:15 so they could walk to the Town Hall and arrive there with a few minutes to spare before the debate began. With that, the werewolf couple went their separate ways.
Tad opened the front door and stepped inside, taking off his shoes and placing them neatly by the door. He then looked in the living room to find his mom sitting on the couch reading a book.
"Hey mom," he said, making Jen look up from her book.
"Hi sweetie," she said, smiling. "How was your day?"
"It was good," Tad said, placing his backpack down by the door. "Just your typical school day. Nothing to write home about, really."
"I would assume that there would be a lot going on today considering that the debate is happening at 5:00," Jen said. "I'd love to go, but I have some things to do tonight."
"Doing things with Claire?" Tad asked, which made Jen nod in response.
"Nothing too big. Just a nice home cooked meal and a movie or something," she said. "I'll be sure to save some for you."
"No need mom," Tad said. "Amy and I have plans of our own. We're planning to go to the debate to finally know what it was all about. After that we're just going to go back to her house for a bit. The rest of her family members are out of the house for the night, so I don't want her to be alone."
"Right...that's the ONLY reason you're going," Jen chuckled, causing Tad's face to turn red.
"F-Fine...but we're still going to the debate tonight," Tad said, quickly changing the topic.
"That's perfectly fine honey," Jen said. "Be sure to tell me what all the fuss was about, okay?"
"I will mom," Tad promised.
