...horses.
She always loved them when she was a kid. She was always watching them online, drawing them on a tablet and she always wanted to ride with them. As her reality changed, she had given up on the dream of riding with horses. There was no time for it. She had to find a job, get a driver's license, go to university, buy Nerva products, graduate and get money. She still continued to think about that dream of her's, years and years later. She sighed as she absentmindedly stared into the distance, thinking about how great it would have been to be with the horses.
The nanobots glitched. The glitch, created by the outside people, repeated the last four words of her thoughts in her mind. The constant repeating of the four words "be with the horses" started to have an effect on her mind, as some of her memory was slowly fading.
Miranda didn't feel like she belonged where she was, she had to go somewhere...fresh. She ran out of her office, it didn't feel natural to her. She needed to be somewhere that had acres of fresh grass, somewhere that she could rest her feet. However, her feet hardened, feeling like her own feet were changing into tough wooden blocks, breaking her high heels as she ran into the closest green place in the dome, the garden centre. She didn't even know that her shoes broke... but then again, what are shoes? She had hooves, so there was no need for...what do you call it...s-sho-shoes? Miranda's hear was growing longer, even growing on the back of her neck. She breathed in the smells of all the flowers, dirt and grass around her, with her nostrils expanding as she breathes in again. She couldn't help herself, she had to get closer. She ran towards the fresh lawn, bent over and starting to eat. Her taste buds had never felt the same, as they had also changed, she loved it, she had to have more. Her spine lengthened, sprouting hairs, it was her own tail. A horse's tail. The thoughts changed further and further, changing her speech, dumbing down her words.
"Good. Need more. Grass more" she said, her voice straining, with grass continuing to go in her mouth. Her teeth thickened, becoming more blocky and yellow. Fur was starting to grow onto her legs, getting thicker and thicker, and her hands started to stiffen, becoming hooves. This wasn't enough for her, she needed something else to eat. A smell catches her nose, a whiff of something delicious to this stubborn per-he-herse-hors-horse. Hay. Bundles of hay. And with that, Miranda bolted.
She was struggling to stay upright, clomping her hooves against the pristine tiles of the dome. Her ears were stretching against the speed of this hungry horse-person, shaping themselves into perfect horse ears, growing fur as she continued to run. The smell was growing stronger and stronger, as her jaw and nose lengthened to create a muzzle. People were starting to notice Miranda, staring at this strange looking creature running down the tiles of the dome city centre. Something was happening, but to Miranda, she didn't care. She just needed to get to the hay.
She finally reached where the hay was located, the animal farm centre. She had to know where it was, that smell, the hay. The nanobots started to remove more knowledge of these human things that Mirand- Mira- Mir- M- whatever her name is struggled with. She shook her clothes off, her fur covered body covered everything. Her eyes were nearly entirely pupil. Most of the things she knew were lost, and she was starting to gain more knowledge about horses. She finally went on all fours, as her back kept her in that position. She clip-clopped to the hay, slowly gaining the body shape of a horse. And then, that was it. She wasn't Miranda anymore. She was a horse, waiting to be named, waiting for a stud, waiting for more food.
This was the first victim of the hacked glitch in Nerva's nanobots.
