‘What happened?’ The last thing you remembered was a blow to the head and then darkness ‘Why did someone assault me?’ The migraine start to disappear as you wait patiently on the grass. ‘I am still on that clearing, I was not moved while unconscious’ You gaze sweep the familiar view of the stream of water as you wake up completely.
A soft yawn escapes your mouth before you open the eyes again and notice a detail that escaped you before ‘ Why is there a brown bump on my nose?’ You try to lift your right arm and hand to bat away the anomaly but you freeze when instead of normal human hand a black cloven hoof is lifted instead.
With trembling legs you stand on all four like a newborn and reach the stream to inspect the reflection. You only need a glance to confirm your worst fears, gone was your youthful face and brown hair, now there is only a muzzle with a wet and leathery nose, a soft pelt of brown fur and a small pairs of antlers on top of your head.
‘I’m a deer! How?’ You stand shocked for several minutes near the river when you start to hear a soft giggle, originating from an elusive pink light coming toward your position.
The floating pink light descend to be at you eye level and with closeness you can assuredly state that this is not something natural, a tiny naked woman with butterfly wings is literally hovering before you!
“Greeting outsider!” The fairy land on the top of your muzzle and curtsies while you look bemusedly “I am Vineda, a fairy. I had so much fun in changing your body to integrate you with the wildlife! Sorry for the migraine but some fairies have to wait until much later to trick and transform others so I didn’t want to lose your body to my sisters.” The tiny girl sit on the fur and start to pet you “ I had so many ideas! First I wanted to see a beaver, then I tended to squirrel but in the end I turned you into an adolescent buck. So what were you doing here mr. former-human?”
A grunt is the only thing that she heard before she giggle “Don’t bother to speak as an animal, we fairies can hear the thoughts of beasts just fine” The notion of being considered a beast bothered you quite a lot but in the end you explained the situation to the girl, hoping for a chance to return human.
“You were lost in the woods? You’re silly mr. stag, this entire forest is a fairy grove and you basically asked to be an animal the moment you walked in. You want to return human mr. stag? Weeelll… I don’t know, the does in the forest are reaaaallly in needs of a virile buck right now, are you sure you’re not interested?” Your agitate grunts didn’t manage to convey the many unflattering things you said to her “Geez, touchy aren’t you… “ A playful smirk cross her face as she stare at your antlers “Tell you what, I will even help you to find something to reverse the change… For a price of course. All fairy folks are bound to speak the truth and honour their promises, I said I will help you if you accept my deal, are you really ready to pay the price for my help?”
