Luckily for the group, the bowling alley was a little ways away from the restaurant, so it gave Gloria some time to think as to how Mrs. Haskins could've gotten so young between when she dropped them off at the restaurant and when she came back to the restaurant. She then looked at her ring and it suddenly dawned on her: she had indirectly made Mrs. Haskins younger while they talked about her over dinner.
Now Gloria had to think of someway to get her back to her normal age without directly wishing it aloud. Maybe she could strike up a conversation that somehow related to age.
"So uh....Maddie, how was the gym?" Gloria asked her.
"Ha! You know it's funny you should ask, I was getting in a really good workout and while I was there, this young guy who looked to only be around 18 or so asked me if I went to college around here. Can you believe that? He actually thought I looked hot? And at my age." Maddie chuckled.
"Yeah, you only look 38." Gloria complimented while noticing her ring glowing a little bit implying that the wish was working.
The girls and Mike could see from where they sat that Maddie was slowly now aging back up. Her figure was gaining the muscle she had lost back as well as becoming very close as to how she looked when the girls first saw her.
"Oh, well now that actually much better. My clothes were feeling loose for some reason before, but now they feel normal again." Maddie said as she got closer to 38 years old.
"As normal as they'll ever be when you get to be your age. You know Mrs. Haskins, I don't think I ever asked you this before but you're so young looking. How old did you say you were before because you definitely can't be my age." Gloria asked trying not to sound rude.
"Oh, Gloria, you're such a sweet girl. You picked a good one here, Nate." Mrs. Haskins said winking at her son.
"No, I don't mind it Gloria, lots of people mistake me for a being a little bit younger, but I'm 45." Mrs. Haskins answered.
"Wow, only 45? I can hardly believe it." Gloria said as she looked at the ring and glowed again.
They finally arrived at the bowling alley just as Mrs. Haskins became her normal age again. Gloria and Samantha both took a breath of relief as they began to get out of the car.
"So...uh, Adam, do you think you could teach me a few pointers about bowling? I've never been that good at it." Felicia asked rubbing her neck and chuckling a little.
"Yeah, I....I definitively can do." Adam said as Felicia got out of the van as Adam smacked his head from what he'd just said.
"Thanks mom." Nate said as he got out of the car.
"So....Mrs. Haskins, uh, Maddie, what are you going to be doing while we're inside?" Gloria asked.
"Oh, I'll just be out here listening to some old tunes I loved when I was your age. You know sometimes I wish I was your age again." Mrs. Haskins said.
"Trust me, Maddie, being a teenager is a lot more complicated than you think. Especially with my life right now." Gloria said as she went inside to catch up with the others. Gloria took one last look to see that Mrs. Haskins wasn't regressing now, which was a very good thing.
