"Well Josh, right now I just want you to relax and listen to my voice."
Josh nodded, without thinking.
The watch kept spinning and swirling, taking him down deeper and deeper into trance.
"Now Josh," Mark started, "You don't really want to be that nerd Simon anymore, do you?"
The boy shook his head.
"Right. As of right now you're going to begin changing. You are forgetting whatever you once were, and you will find yourself becoming what I tell you," Mark continued.
The boy nodded, still not thinking.
As Mark kept talking, Simon felt himself sinking, and he found that his thoughts began changing. He found that it was harder and harder for him to think about his academic studies. He tried to fight it, tried to retain his intelligence, but he could feel it slipping away.
Josh could feel himself getting dumber as Mark continued talking and the watch continued spinning.
"You love sports Josh, they are your whole world. There is nothing you would rather think about than sports. You have always loved sports, you have always been a jock. That is all you are, a big dumb jock, just like us."
And Josh knew that it was right. He felt his mind changing, as he realized that he really did love sports, especially football, and all other thoughts slipped away. It was becoming harder and harder to think of anything but just going out and playing his hardest and having a damn good time. Josh couldn't remember ever being very smart, he had always been dumb as long as he could remember.
"Josh, you're now going to wake up." Mark finished.
