After school, you stop by the carnival on your way home. Today was an especially rough day. Being somewhat of an outcast, it's been difficult trying to fit in. None of the popular kids seem to notice you, unless they need a punching bag. There's only a handful of people who are friendly to you; maybe they'll be at the carnival. The carnival should be a good diversion, after being pushed around all day. As you start heading toward the rides, you hear someone call your name.
"Billy! Hey Billy, over here!" In surprise, you turn around; it's Dan, one of the cool kids at school, standing next to a photo-booth with his friends. He has never even acknowledged you before. You walk over to him thinking how nice it would be to get to be a part of the in crowd for once. "Billy, you gotta check this out, man! When you take a picture in this photo-booth, you can choose a special filter. It can make you look like anything you want: your favorite superhero, a cartoon character, an animal, whatever! Look, here's a picture we all took." Looking at the picture, you see that Dan and his friends looks like Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
"Wow, that sounds pretty cool, Dan, but the sign says its 20 bucks and I didn't bring that much money."
"It's ok, Billy. I'll spot you. You can pay me back later somehow."
"Wow, thanks!" you say. "I'd like to take a picture as Spiderman!" You climb into the booth and Dan feeds a 20 dollar bill into the slot. The door shuts by itself and the screen blinks on.
"Please enter your costume filter choice." the screen reads. You type into the keyboard "Spiderman" and hit enter. The screen reads enter how long your costume will last: The options listed are: for this picture only, for 30 minutes, for 1 hour, for 5 hours, for 1 day, for 1 week, or for 1 year. Not fully understanding, and not wanting to be embarrassed, you choose "For this photo only" and hit enter. "Please remain still" a computer voice says. Mechanical arms appear from behind you and start spraying your clothes with some sort of liquid. As you watch this progress, you see that the sprayers are painting your clothes to look like Spiderman's costume. The sprayer arms work their way from your feet all the way to your collar. Looking down, you look like Superman; your clothes look exactly like the spidey suit. "I wonder how it does the mask, like a digital effect or something." you think to yourself. "Please face forward and close your eyes and mouth!" the computer voice states. Suddenly, the sprayer arms swing up in front of your face. You close your eyes tightly as they spray paint on your face and neck. The wands then move to your arms and hands and paint there as well. A fan starts up and blows the paint dry.
"Face the camera and smile!" the voice says. The screen starts to count down 3, 2, 1. The camera takes four pictures. As you look at the preview on the screen, you are amazed. You look amazing, like Spiderman himself. The mechanical arms swing back around and start spraying your clothes with steam; a vacuum head comes out and starts sucking the paint out of your clothes, leaving them cleaner than when you got there. Another wand mists your face and arms with water to rinse off the paint and the blowers blow you dry. The doors open and you stand up to leave the booth and collect your photos.
