The voice they heard was feminine for sure, but it was far too quiet and strangely elegant to be a bimbo.
"Ummmm... ahem-hmph... we are ma'am. Say, you wouldn't happen to know where the soldiers are, would you?" Perkins asked.
The doors opened to a woman in billowing robes, wearing a pale white mask of a beautiful face with lush lips and dainty eyes.
"The soldiers have been gone for some time." she said with an eerie calm tone.
Perkins, Colin, and the cops, all held back a shudder as more women wearing the exact same robe and mask combo stood before them.
Perkins awkwardly chuckled with a "Oh... I see. Well, sorry to bother you ladies, goodbye."
He was stopped by two of the cloaked women, jumping five feet in the air as he saw them.
"Please. Come stay with us. We insist." the duo replied in perfect sync.
Perkins nervously complied as he and the other men were guided into the base.
They saw women in the same style of outfit working admist the base with this calm, almost surreal silence. Some were dragging gardening hoes along the ground as other's poured seeds into the dirt. Others were raking leaves and pulling weeds. And more still were... sewing up tattered clothes?
"Clothes of those unfortunate enough to be corrupted by the plague of the sinful... it's put to use in our quilts and bedding." one of the masked women explained out of nowhere.
Something felt off, extremely off.
'That was just a warm up for dinner.' Colin thought to himself as a masked lady placed a fork tipped with steak in his mouth. Not just any steak, top grade sirloin! Another masked woman was massaging his shoulders, yet another rubbed his feet. It wasn't even just him, it was every guy in the search party getting this treatment, from a group of creepy looking masked ladies they just met. Colin had a burning feeling in his mind; there was something fishy going on around here.
