It took some effort, as he had cloven hooves instead of feet. But as Derrick rose he realized that they were much larger, and that his own sense of balance was better. As it would have to be. His head was heavy, though it felt natural somehow. He had the impressive rack of antlers that had graced his head as a buck, and the same thick pelt of fur. Also present were the massive testicles and sheathed penis he had used with such success in the woods. Yet he had two legs, and arms ending in thick, three-fingered hands.
"What am I?" His voice was guttural, somewhere between a deer's grunt and a human voice, but it was understandable. He was confused, but despite the strangeness of his body, he felt amazing - strong, powerful, full of energy, the same as he had as a buck.
"A Green Man... or perhaps a Green Boy." Diana walked around him, nodding in approval. "Some growth left, though you are already quite impressive. As I said, the best of both. You are a forest spirit now, a being of power and magic, though it will take time for you to be able to make use of that magic. Beautiful to all, especially anything of nature."
Derrick moved to look at his reflection in the still surface of Diana's pool. He had the head and rack of a magnificent buck, a muscular body covered with fur, powerful stag's legs. A buck who moved on two legs. "But.. I can't go home like this!" Derrick stared and felt his muzzle, his pear-shaped ears, the barreled chest. Maybe he didn't care.
"If you choose to go among mortals, they will see you as a human - all will be attracted to you, male and female alike, and those you touch will radiate their appropriate forest form. You will sense some to be beasts, some to be trees, some to be one with the earth. As your power develops, you will be able to make those forms real with a caress. Many will desire to mate with you, and they will become pregnant deer transported to different forests and woods around the world. You will also create predators, wolves and others to maintain the balance."
Derrick could feel the truth in her words, even sense the power within him. Then he frowned. "You said trees and earth? Wouldn't that kill the person?"
Diana chuckled. "No, young godling. Even the dirt beneath your hooves is aware and alive, just in a different way than you have experienced. You will renew and fortify nature, reducing the human pollution and restoring the world."
