You aren't really given a breed or species, just general creatures like 'kitty' 'doggie' 'birdie' 'foxie' and any other animal that could be considered adorable by human standards.
Not wanting to go with something completely generic, you pick 'birdie'... you wonder if you'll be able to fly.
After the long drive, you see the processing facility looks more like a Hello Kitty merchandise store. Cartoony animal statues and reliefs are everywhere, completely with a full glass front. There was pleasant music playing. After you stop inside, you wonder if a themed daycare center might have been more accurate. Everything looked like a train.
There were others there of course, hobos, wealthy businessmen convinced society was going to collasp soon, clinically depressed college students, nature-girls, people owing debts to the wrong people hoping to take advantage of that promised debt release, hippies, and of course furries and man children who saw a chance to escape the real world. Many get cold feet and make a break for it before even getting close to the reception desk. Even more get colder feet and run for it before they go through the 'Welcome To Cutie Town' doors behind the receptionist.
The receptionist at the front counter is surprisingly human and mundane compared to the overly cheerful surroundings and theme.
"Please show me your invite letter and seal of approval please," she said simply to you.
You showed her your paper work and the seal engraved on the letter, she takes it without fanfare.
"Just go through security and we can get you started." She said.
Security was again surprisingly mundane and human.
"Take a good look at us mac, we'll be the last human beings you'll be seeing face to face for a good long while."
That was when most got the aforementioned fold feet.
They go through your suit case and scan it and you, and find nothing wrong. You go through one door. The room is very plain and bland. You are told to strip naked and deposit your clothing in a safety deposit box if you ever decide to leave Cutie Town, 'You are free to incinerate your clothing instead if you wish, or you may incinerate it at any time at request.'
You decide to skip that for now, you'd see what the place was like before committing for life.
You enter another plain empty room with a door looking the size of a small child to enter.
The entire room glows, and happy cartoony pictures flash on the floor, ceiling, and walls, that you can't help yourself but smile back... The room gets bigger and bigger, and your feet become scaled with three toes in front and one in back. Your face pushes out into beak, your eyes bigger and bigger and move to the side of your head. Blue feathers cover most of your body except for you front covered in white down. A big blue tail father grows from your rear. Your arms... become wings, but the feathers at the very tips you can still move like fingers.
You can't help but giggle to yourself as the happy train ride music plays, complete with a train whistle and 'SHHHHH!' when complete.
A depender provides you with a red (your favorite color) bowtie that you place around your neck. With a tag that reads 'bowtie and other clothing are all optional here.' You decide to wear the bowtie for now anyway.
Not feeling the least bit ashamed or worried or embarrassed, you happily walk through the door now perfect to your size, taking your suitcase with you.
You emerge into a town perfect to your size, with buildings and trees and everything as cute and sweet as can be... It's so great you could just... you flap your wings, you take a few feet off the ground and then land safely. You can fly! You can fly!!!
"Hello! I'm Amanda!" Said a white kitty in front of you with yellow eyes, she had a ribbon around her neck that was purple. She's super cute! "Welcome new-comer to Cutie Town! We hope to have Cutie Towns around the world, so we all try our best to make our town the best it can be!" She stuck out a paw with a thumb to give you a wingshake. "My job is tour guide and orientation, and my hobby is gardening. What's your name? And what job would you like to have?"
