What he found was his uncle and cousins sitting on the family room sofa watching a football game. About to offer some help, the men watching the television suddenly cried out in excitement. Wondering want was making them so happy, Jake ambled into the room taking one of the comfy chairs.
Sitting around the television, Jake’s cousins and uncle were watching a football game, the Cowboys versus the Patriots. For some unknown reason, Jake was happy to find that the Cowboys were beating the Patriots by fourteen points and the fourth quarter had just started. Soon he was cheering along with the other men, and when the quarter ended, was thrilled that the Cowboys had won.
Soon diner was ready and everyone sat and ate. To Jake’s surprise, he was keeping pace with his cousins in consumption of the food, taking multiple helpings. By the end of the meal, Jake was sure he had eaten enough to have fed him for a week before his transformation, yet he did not feel overly stuffed. Getting up to help Aunt Mary with the dishes, she shooed him away saying, “You boys were planning to go out tonight. I can handle this. Just go and have some fun.” Turning to the dishes, she then added as the water started to run, “Go put on some nicer clothes dear.”
Knowing that he would not likely get an option, Jake headed back upstairs.
