Their singing was pure, unfiltered magic and, had it not been a slow beach day, it is likely dozens of humans, male and female would have embraced their inner Mer.
However, the closest person was a little six year old boy named Patrick. He was a young Caucasian boy with forest green eyes, blond hair, a cleft chin and a straight nose. His foster parents were asleep with their noise canceling headphones on. Patrick meanwhile, was playing near the tide when he heard the beautiful song. His legs felt wobbly and he fell on his butt. His t-shirt shreaded along with his swimming trunks. His water shoes popped off as a sea green tail and fins took the place of his legs. Patrick was confused about what happened to him. This confusion slowly built up into fear.
Luckily, Patrick's predicament was witnessed by Liara. Liara told her new friend to follow her. The two Mermaids swam over to Patrick.
Emma and Liara pulled themselves as close to Patrick as the shore would allow them.
"Are you ok little one?" Liara asked. Patrick, who had been completely focused on his tail jolted a bit.
"We didn't mean to scare you." Emma said. "My name is Emma and this is Liara." She said in a soothing tone.
"Your both really pretty." Patrick said innocently as both girls giggled. "Aww well thank you, that's really sweet." They said.
"My name is Patrick. I was playing near the tide when I heard a beautiful song and suddenly I turned into this." He said, clearly scared.
"It's ok, there's no need to be scared sweetie." Emma said kindly. "That was us singing." Liara said, as she and Emma revealed their tails.
"Wow, I'm not the only one?" Patrick asked in awe. Emma and Liara giggled. "Of course not. I Know it seems scary, but you've been given a truly wonderful gift, never forget that." Liara said.
Patrick nodded, committing it to memory.
