"I think I have to go with something more exotic. Could you make me..." Matt seemed to hesitate for a moment. He suddenly was afraid, yet also excited. "...could you turn me into a dragon?"
"Oooh, yes, I knew you were going to be fun too." Kathryn seemed filled with glee as she began to conjure her magic. She started weaving her spell as both Nate and Matt watched in anticipation. The sun was beginning to set, giving the yard a nice evening glow. As she finished her spell, Matt looked over himself for any changes, not seeing anything immediate. "It's going to take a moment, a transformation that big."
Matt cried out and doubled over, falling to the ground. Nate and Kathryn watched in rapt fascination as green scales began to grow over Matt's skin. His fingernails tore away as black, sharp claws grew in. He sat up, looking at his reptilian hands and forearms, smiling, revealing the fangs growing in.
"Yesssss..." he hissed as he watched his transformation progress. His body mass began to increase as his shirt and pants began to rip apart at the seams, revealing more scales underneath. The shaggy hair atop his head began to fall out as two pairs of horns began to grow in along the top of his head. His body mass continued to grow and change as his clothes fell away in tattered remains. His sneakers ripped apart, revealing massive talons. Large, leathery wings began to grow in from his back as a long tail began to grow out as well. His neck began to grow longer as his face pushed out into a draconic snout. He looked to Kathryn and Nate and seemed to be smiling. A ridge of spikes grew along the back of his neck, down his back and along his tail. Nate watched in awe as Matt unfolded his massive wings.
Nate slowly approached his newly transformed friend and reached out to rub his scaly snout, taking in the large fangs peeking out from his lips. He looked him right in the eyes, completely transformed from high school boy to mythical beast. He'd been a werewolf and a dog himself, but he hadn't seen anyone else transform before and certainly not into something like this.
"Now Matt, this is just for tonight. I can't have a dragon running around town forever. Besides, it's not like I can send you home like that. Tomorrow morning, you'll be a regular boy again, okay?" said Kathryn.
Matt nodded that he understood. He began flapping his wings and took off, taking to the night's sky now that the sun had completely set and the moon was beginning to rise. Kathryn and Nate watched as he flew around in the sky. Nate couldn't help but wonder what the neighbors would think if they saw this now. Not that anyone would believe them.
