Zemelda looked around the apartment, trying to find inspiration as to what to turn Nate into when a soft ding broke the silence. Nate dug his cellphone out of his pocket and checked the message that came in. It was from his friend Ben wondering where he was. Nate messaged back he’d be there in a moment.
“Okay, ma’am, this has been fun but I need to be going so we are going to have to cut this short. I have friends waiting for me,” said Nate, trying to usher Zemelda out of his flat.
“Going? Where are you going?” asked Zemelda.
“To a convention. I’ll be there all weekend. It’s almost time for opening ceremonies and my best friend is part of it.”
“What sort of convention is it?” asked Zemelda, genuinely curious.
“It’s called Howl Con. It’s for people who are fans of werewolves, like me. Okay?” Nate proceeded to usher Zemelda towards the door. If he wasn’t in such a rush, he would’ve noticed that she was deep in thought.
“And where is this convention?” asked Zemelda.
“At the Doubletree in Bloomington. I’m sure there are tickets still available.” Nate opened his front door and pushed the trespassing witch out. “Have fun”
Zemelda watched the door close and smiled to herself. “Oh I will, I will have lots of fun.”
With that, she disappeared in a cloud of smoke, transporting herself to the convention.
