The lands that the road traveled was indeed magical, although throughout the years, its nature has become... unpredictable. Such is the twisted behavior of the route that the Everson family and everyone to encounter them or their trail would would change and forever change the lands.
It begins with the family's travels through arid earth of Arizona in their station wagon. It wasn't the roomiest for a family of five, especially for the siblings, but they were somewhat comfortably snug at least.
...somewhat.
Unfortunately for Debra, she sat in between her younger twin siblings, which meant that she was in the middle of their mischief and fidgeting. While they weren't little kids, they certainly have not grown our of mild poking and disturbances. ...even if they weren't exactly meant for the 16 year old.
Yet, they drove on through the beautifully barren Arizona lands, occasionally taking in the sights when they weren't complaining about personal space, dozing off, or completely bored. Of course for Debra, these were her only options as they were well away from any big cities, thus marking the absence of any cell phone towers.
Unbeknownst to the family, they happened to be driving past the dozens of rabbit holes populated the area. The land had once been inhabited by a large amount of rabbits since long ago, until they suddenly disappeared without explanation. It was these two factors that caused a magical aura to envelop the small area, encompassing both the family car and the abandoned lapine homes. To the family, it simply appeared to be a sudden wave of heat radiating from the ground.
The intensity faded as quickly as it came, the magic disappearing from the lands, its work done and fulfilled, ready to welcome a new lapine age.
