After showering and dressing Katie found herself driving Gloria, Jackie and Ann to the mall. The three teens wanted to do some Black Friday shopping and would be meeting their friends there. “Well here we are,” Katie sighed as she put the car in park. Ann and Jackie quickly lept from the car leaving Gloria alone with her sister.
“Feeling Okay Gloria,” Katie asked.
Gloria smiled placing her hand on her sisters shoulder. “Yeah I’m good Katie,” she sighed. “Yesterday took a lot out of me. Guess I need to work on my stamina.”
“Hey,” Gloria said warmly. “What you did was impressive. You saved your friends and a lot of other people. Plus you got Mom and Grandma to makeup with each other. That’s quite impressive.”
“Better than anything you ever did,” Gloria asked with a smirk.
Katie ruffled her sisters hair giving her a playful shove. “Don’t get too cocky kid,” she smirked. “Besides if we got a little sister on the way were going to need all our strength to teach her magic.”
Gloria nodded, with Lisa now pregnant their would be a new addition to the family. Someone both Katie and Gloria would need to look out for and protect. Gloria smiled happily before looking at her sister. “Your right Katie,” she said. “And I can’t wait to show her everything the world has to offer.”
The two sisters smiled as Gloria now slowly got out of the car. “You know I’m going to be our sisters favorite right,” she teased. Katie laughed as her sister began to walk away. “Your being an ass Glo,” she laughed. “We both know I’m going to be her favorite. Now go have some fun with your friends, I’ll be back in a few hours.”
Katie watched for a moment as her sister went to join her friends. As she drove away she absentmindedly touched her necklace. With everything that had been going on recently Kari hadn’t much of a chance to have any real fun lately. With alternate timelines, a sister with a magic ring, her engagement, and school, Katie hadn’t had much time for fun recently. This weekend, things were going to be different.
Pulling into the Harris’s driveway Katie sighed. The girls would be meeting up at Claudia’s before going out. None of the girls had any intention of trying to shop on Black Friday. Instead the group would be meeting up at Claudia’s to hangout before trying to party plan. Exiting her car Katie could see Derrick Harris dragging some trash outside. Seeing Katie the young teacher waved.
“Katie good to see you,” he said.
“Hey Derrick,” Katie waved. “Congrats on the full time job. How have things been?”
“Would of been better if me and Morgan hadn’t ended up as preschoolers,” he grumbled. “Which reminds me Do I have you sister to thank for that?”
“Sorry,” Katie laughed. “Things got a little crazy over at my house yesterday. Hope it didn’t mess your holiday up too bad.” Derrick sighed as he looked back towards his home. “No,” he sighed. “Thankfully my folks and Morgan don’t remember anything. Guess you have to have knowledge of the ring to be able to remember, lucky me.”
“Sorry again Derrick,” Katie said. “I’ll try to keep things quieter while I’m here.”
“Hope so,” Derrick said. “Cause next time I’m giving Gloria detention.”
As Katie entered the home she could see Mika, Claudia, Mary and Sammy sitting in the living room talking with Tom and Marjorie Harris. “Hey Katie,” Samantha called. “Glad you came, Kellie said she would be over soon. She was just spending some time with her folks.”
“Yeah Kel was looking forward to some alone time with her folks,” Katie answered. “So what are you guys up too?”
“Trying to figure out our wedding of course,” Claudia smirked. “Mika And I we’re just sitting down with mom and dad trying to figure out when to hold the wedding.”
“And also what type of wedding,” Mika groaned. “My folks are pretty gun-ho about it being a Buddhist ceremony.”
“What about you Sammy,” Mary asked. “Have you and Mike started any wedding plans?”
Samantha shrugged as she looked at her friends. “The only thing we’ve agreed on is that the wedding will be after I graduate,” she said. “Mike is being scouted by pro teams right now. If he gets drafted high enough he could end up having a lot of money for a really nice ceremony.”
“Maybe he could get you a nicer ring,” Mika teased. Samantha frowned as she looked down at her ring pop. “No way,” she snorted. “This is the best thing EVER. No way do I want a different ring.”
“So what does that mean your wedding bands are gonna look like,” Claudia smirked. “Decoder rings?”
“Girls, Girls,” Mary Elise said quickly, seeing Samantha begin to turn red with anger. “Let’s try to focus, backhanded comments will get us no where. Especially if you get angry enough to start useing those pendants.”
Claudia, Mika and Samantha sighed, removing their hands from the necklaces. “Okay good point,” they sighed.
“So,” Katie said, trying to change the subject. “What do you guys feel like doing. We have sometime before we have to get the supplies for the party.”
“Well,” Mary Elise said. “Sebastian and Mike wanted to check out the homecoming game. The game got moved up to today so if you felt like having an impromptu high school reunion we can go.”
“Ashley also invited us over to her place,” Claudia said. “I know Shiro and Jen were going over there. Apparently Ash is having a bunch of her sorority sisters down to visit. Could be fun hanging out at a rich girls house and hanging out with some Greek girls.”
Katie and the others now rubbed their chins thoughtfully as they weighed their options.
