“This is absolutely fascinating James…” Professor Henderson states while curiously looking into the microscope and making notes frenetically. The Border collie besides him perks his ears, seemingly recognising his name. The shredded labcoat besides the dog and the earring on the dog’s ear gives a hint of the dog’s origin “…It’s apparently an entire new strain of the virus… it looks allot like the old virus but has some small but clear differences” Henderson lets his hand fall down along his side and casually scratches the Malamute’s ears. The sleddog besides him wags his tail slowly and pants contentedly. Then he proceeds to scratch his own ear. The background noise of the vet clinic is filled with dog barks from both larger and smaller dogs. Professor Henderson is about to continue but he stops as he hears the front door open. A group of men wearing bio hazard suits walks into the vet clinic, each of the carries at least one metal suitcase. The men stop in front of Professor Henderson. “Professor Henderson I presume?” Says one of the men in the middle with a voice that’s slightly distorted because of the gas mask he’s wearing. “Ah. Professor Schumacher, good you could make it. I’ve recently discovered that the virus has mutated into a new strain”
“So it seems” answers Schumacher “When were you infected?” Henderson tilts his left ear slightly and uses his pawlike hand to uncover his clock from his fur. “Two hours ago… and my assistant James here” He makes a gesture in the direction of the border collie. “He got infected by the old strain about the same time” Schumacher seems to look the human like grey and white malamute in front of him that wears a clock and a lab coat that used to be his colleague professor Henderson. “Now… professor Henderson, now I would like you to rapport about the situation here…”
Meanwhile not far from there...
Kimberly slowly walks up to the Hudson family house. It’s white walls make the red roses in the garden stand out nicely. She knows that Mr and Mrs Hudson are not home since it’s her job to take their dog, a brown Labrador bitch. Kimberly has been entrusted with a set of keys to the house since the family trust her since the couple knows her parents. When she reaches the door she picks up the keys and locks up the door. But when she pulls down the handle she feels that the door is locked. “Strange” she thinks “The door must have been open to start with” She turns the keys one more time and this time the door opens. “Hallo? Is anyone home?” She calls out. The inside of the house is dark, even if it’s in the middle of the day. She suddenly notices a human like shadow hiding in a dark corner further into the house. She notices it because the shadow is so much darker then the rest of the darkness. “Who’s there?” she asks a bit nervously.
