"For now I think I shall make you a cat. It's quickest and easiest, don't you think?"
"Yes Mistress"
Kayla laughed a touch cruelly, knowing James had no other choice than to go along with whatever she said.
"Well, I'm glad you agree. I think we are going to get along fine. Now, get on all fours please"
James did as instructed, hoping as he did that this madness was about to end. Whatever hold this woman had on his mind surely she couldn't physically transform? He felt sure that wasn't possible, his greatest fear remaining the prospect of someone walking in on this bizarre and embarassing scene.
"Ok, let me concentrate a moment" Kayla asked politely. She placed her hand on James' head as if to both calm him and hold him in place. She muttered another incantation.
To James' horror he felt himself getting smaller, his form contorting painlessly but firmly into an unfamiliar shape as black fur seemed to sprout from every part of his rapidly changing body. Before long the spell was complete.
"There" Kayla spoke kindly as she knelt on one knee and stroked her new pet "That wasn't so bad was it? I think a black cat is pretty appropriate. As you've probably guessed I'm a witch"
The cat made an untranslatable mewing noise.
"You won't always be a cat of course, that would be very dull for both of us. But if I decide to grant you the power to communicate at any point then you were originally a cat and never a human ok? You see we are going places where your kind are strictly not allowed to be but I wanted a pet with a human mind because.." Kayla shrugged and thought for a moment "it's cool I guess"
"Anyway" the young witch continued as she rose back to her feet "You'll be in more trouble than me if anyone finds out you know our secrets."
James inwardly panicked. He didn't want to go anywhere with Kayla, particularly somewhere he didn't want to go, and he certainly didn't want to be a witch's cat. But how was he going to get out of this?
