The entire time they were driving, I was bombarding Nova with questions.
“Where are we going? Is my mom a witch? Are there any other witches out there? What else can you do with your magic? I forgot, how much money am I getting since you promised to give me all of it?”
“Slow down. It’s like having an actual toddler in the car asking ‘why’ for everything you tell them. Look, I’m the only witch in this town. My magic consists of transformation, changing teens to toddlers and random objects into money are the basics of my skill. And since I did promise you the money, I’ll give it to you right now.” She reached into her pocket, pulling out a single quarter.
“A quarter!?” I shouted,” I can’t even buy a candy bar with that!”
“As if you need candy.”
Nova stopped the car in front of a building with the words ”Daycare” on the front. She got out of the car and went to the back to grab something, then she unbuckled me from my seat and held me on her hip.
We got to the front of the daycare where someone at a registration desk greeted aunt Nova. She let me down and gave me a rag for some reason. ”Go on now, I'll be inside soon buddy,” she suggested. Curious as I can be, I walked past the registration desk and down a hallway where different rooms are labeled. ’Newborn’ ’Baby’ ’Preschool’ ’Children’ were the only doors that involved children. I know that I'm not a newborn since I can walk or the children room since I'm still wearing a diaper.
”Hey little guy. How did you get out of your room?” a man asked. He appeared out of nowhere and scared me when he talked. His deep voice was frightening enough. ”Are you ok? Does someone need a change?” I wasn't sure how to answer. No one gave me a lesson on how actual toddlers act.
The man held out his hand, wanting me to come with him. ”My name is George, and I promise I don't bite. I'll take you back to the playroom.” he said. I grabbed his hand and he led me to the preschool room.
Inside the room, we're four corners. Based on the looks, one corner is for eating, the other is for either reading or learning, next was I believe somewhere for nap time, and finally, the corner with all the toys would probably be a playground.
”Not many kids are here, but I think you'll like the one who is,” he said pointing out a group of kids. There were three of them, one looking maybe 5 years old, while the other two looked like 3-year-old twins.
Let me introduce you to them
