There's only one place you really know, and that's your own apartment. You backtrack up the streets, ensuring you avoid the floats and heavy festivities. You end up reaching your apartment building, you climb three flights of stairs and open the door to your room. You were expected an Irishmen to be waiting for you, but your room is empty and as you left it. You close the door behind you and lock it.
You get out your laptop, there's got to be others experiencing this. But as you go to open a webpage, you find yourself getting connection errors. You open up every program you have, trying to reach anyone, but there's no internet. You pull out your phone and start dialing for your close friends, but have no luck with that either. Your reception is out. As a last hope you turn on the TV, only to find it full of static.
You hear cheers from outside, looking out your window you can see the floats are now close to your street. You stare at the float, you can barely make out the people on it, one of them is probably that Connor guy you dreamed of. You end up looking around your room and finding a pair of binoculars. Getting a closer look you can make out he is definitely one of the men on the float, and there's a few more around him. Connor ends up jumping off the float and talking to a blonde man, looks like that guy is going to be having some personal time with him. As you search the crowd, you end up seeing a man pointing in your direction and laughing. In a panic you back away and close the blinds, they didn't see you did they?
You start thinking about what to do, until you hear knocking on the door. A gruff voice with a heavy accent yells at you "Oi, we had reports about a wanker hiding in here. Come out or we barge in." You approach the door and look through the peephole, you see two men in police uniform waiting at the door. Both look to be around their 30s, their stomachs are a bit rounded but you see their arms are full of muscle. One is bald with quite a bit of stubble, his face is more mature and rugged. The other has a buzz cut and a mountain man beard. They look to each other, the man with the buzz cut says "Oi, Roger. I'm gonna bust the door down if he doesn't open up. Get ready." The bald man you now know as Roger gives off a cocky grin "Bet you can't burst the door down Cahir, you fail and I get his ass." Cahir laughs as he gets in position to charge the door.
