It wasn't only about new and established martial arts that were showcased at SAMAS. There were also demonstrations of the two most mysterious forms of martial arts, the Touch of Death (or Dim Mak) and Iron Shirt.
Dim Mak was one of the most confusing to Animalians. Fortunately, Joshua was able to describe it as attacks to nerve clusters and pressure points that can be used to disable or kill opponents. The other technique, Iron Shirt, was also confusing to Animalians. Some medical practitioners believed that the Iron Shirt techniques might be more psychological than actual physical, but there was no real way to confirm that. Fortunately, some of both Dim Mak and Iron Shirt was taught at Golden Mountain Dojo, so some basic understanding was included.
One of the more well known, but less understood by Animalians, was drunken boxing. Most Animalians were confused about it, because some of the more "powerful" techniques involved drinking, which most Animalians didn't do due to the nasty (to most Animalians) taste that alcohol had.
Martial arts techniques weren't just demonstrated on sides of beef or pig carcasses. There were also a few chances to demonstrate strike strength on cow femurs, again delivered from outside the state. While it wasn't too different from other forms of breaking things, this seemed to be a major blow to male egos.
Some of the more amusing things were from male college students egging on their friends to replicate martial arts feats performed by other Animalians to prove their "manliness", but more often then not resulted in hilarious injuries. One guy tried to smash a cement block with his forehead and only succeeded on breaking his nose.
