While more fun is tempting, Eddie and Kendra agree it's time to get cleaned up. They take separate showers, finishing and getting dressed before Kendra's parents come home. Eddie is invited to stay for dinner. Over dinner, conversation turns to the events of the day.
"So how was your day?" asks Kendra's mother.
"I'm glad high school is almost over" said Kendra. "I hope college classes are more interesting."
"That's not what I was referring to."
Eddie and Kendra exchange slightly nervous glances. "Oh, yes" said Kendra hesitantly. "I was meaning to ask you about that. The serum seemed slow to take effect this morning and I don't think the dose last night completely worked either."
"I'll give you and Eddie extra-strength doses" said Kendra's father.
"Honey, you and I both know that's not the real answer" said Kendra's mother.
Kendra's father sighed.
"What's the real answer then?" asked Kendra.
"You've already found out that the serum isn't the only way to return to human form from feline form. The serum works best at maintaining your human form when you've had a chance to get things out of your system and cool off."
Kendra started to realize what her mother was telling her. "You mean..."
"We mean Eddie should call his parents after dinner" said Kendra's father "and get permission to spend the weekend. Then before bed each night you should both be sure to go completely to werecat form. You'll feel better in the morning and the serum should keep your hormones under control all day long."
It occurred to Eddie how strange it was to be told by his girlfriend's parents that he and Kendra needed to have more sex. Then again, being a werecat was kind of surreal already.
After dinner, Eddie called his parents, who were surprised that he wanted to stay over at his girlfriend's house with her parents' permission. They allowed him to stay, but asked him to be careful and declared they would be having a conversation with Kendra's parents soon.
Eddie and Kendra headed off to Kendra's bedroom, thankful it was Friday night and they had the weekend to spend together.
