While normally August was considered a slow month due to either no real holidays or news, August was also considered the time when people started returning to school or college. That was the main theme for the August issue of Animalia Magazine.

The Cover Couple was surprising, not only because it was Marvin, Stuart, and Cammy, but because Marvin and Stuart were sitting on Cammy's shoulders without her showing any strain. Their article actually talked about how to avoid making mistakes that would take a toll on health, such as how to avoid the "freshman 15".
There was also an article that talked about college myths and misconceptions, such as the fact that hazing might have been part of college fraternity rituals, but most of the "rituals" were already banned and were on the verge of becoming unknown. There were also included some crazy ways of initiation from both long ago and in other countries, and in some cases both. One really crazy initiation rite from early Australia was: In order to get into a certain gang, you had to literally steal another man's wife. While that was no longer done, even in college initiation rites, it did leave to a really funny competition where men had to race each other over a large obstacle course while carrying their wives.
Another funny thing was about how college life, and especially Greek life, changed from the earliest days of the American college system to today. Another thing that was discussed in the article was myths about the college system and whether they were true or not. For example, it was a myth that all presidents were part of a certain college before becoming president. In fact, nine of them were confirmed to have not attended college, with Andrew Johnson being confirmed to have not attended a single day of school.

Another funny article, with ties to both the UFC-A and the A-BC, talked about the evolution of both male and female beauty. Not only did this include how a certain type of beauty got its name (flappers, twiggy, heroin chic), but also whether a certain body style could be healthy. For example, the body type known as heroin chic actually drew its name from those who used heroin consistently, and it was confirmed to be one of the "unhealthy" body types due to emphasis on abusing illegal drugs.
There was also an article that talked about bodybuilding myths that were busted by Buford, Esteban, Amos, Larry, and Anton. For example, they busted the myth that there were two separate parts to the abdominal muscles when there was only really one, and that the only way to get that "shredded", "defined" look was to actually starve and dehydrate themselves to a dangerous level, which just plain wasn't healthy for anyone.
One article, similar to an April Fool's joke article, played to the fact that most Animalians, especially males, had large, bulging musculatures. It pointed at an ancient Greek philosopher (who never existed) that was the first to emphasize care of the body and good health habits. Because of how he upheld his philosophy, he was able to see the rise of early Rome, and even got to meet and debate with both Jesus and the Roman Emperor Trajan. It described how, when he reached his 250th year, he was taken to be a demigod (as they were known at the time) who resembled a living statue of Zeus, with both a bulging, muscular body, and long white hair and a long white beard. It also said that when he finally died, he had gained more than 90 followers, all of whom would live to be well over 100, and they were the ones who said that when he died, he was reunited with his divine father Zeus. What was included was a fake outline of his philosophy, as well as a clear prologue that made it clear that there was no such thing or individual, and most of it was inspired by modern science.
