...he opened his eyes and looked around. It was his room. Exactly like it was before. Not a single thing out of place. Jeff looked at the Chronivac to see what else was the same. He searched through who currently was near the Chronivac and he saw two names that he knew pop up. Lauren and Rosie. His mother and his sister. They were back. He jumped in excitement and relief, hooting and hollering, completely joyful that he was back in his own reality. Well...
...everything was back to normal, right?
Unknown to him at the time, he had nearly everything right. Nearly. He did bring back everyone he knew and loved, as well as everyone had knew and hate and the rest of the population of the planet, the planet itself, and the rest of the universe, but the time that it took to recreate the universe had an effect on the planet and it's current species. The species did have the same fully developed minds that people had before the destruction of reality via Jeff, but their bodies weren't as developed.
Jeff was excited to meet his mother and Rosie again. He froze as he walked past a mirror. He walked back to the centre of the mirror, he knew that something was wrong with the Chronivac as soon as he saw his appearance. Sharpened teeth. Leathery skin. Large rounded ears. Huge nostrils. And what else? Oh yeah. A tail, brown fur covering his whole body, feet that looked like an extra pair of hands, and a muzzle. At the shock of his own body, he looked outside to see if it was just like his own reality, maybe he had just changed and nothing else did. He was wrong. There were no streets. No cars. No buildings made out of concrete. All there was was huge, long trees covered in leaves, moss and vines, with holes cut out of the trees to make windows and doors. He panicked and rushed down the stairs to find his family.
"Good afternoon, honey" his mother said "Did you rest okay?". The same changes happened to his mother. Every single different addition to his own body happened to his mother. The tail. The muzzle. The brown fur against the leathery skin. Everything. Jeff was speechless, as he saw his mother picking up fruit with her tail and hoisting it up to her mouth as she took a large bite out of it, while she was also cutting up banana's on top of this paste that looked like it was made up of grubs, making it feel as though it was porridge. He looked around, vines and branches were everywhere in the kitchen, as he saw his sister reading upside down, using her tail to hold and balance herself on a branch.
He couldn't believe what he had done.
The planet Earth was back.
Back to it's prehistoric state.
He, as well as the entire population, were monkeys.
