Jen had just tricked one of her 4 moms into saying "both" in response to "transform or dare". As Jen watched her mom for reaction, to see if her mom realized what happened, her mom's movements slowed down until after 20 seconds her movement halted and she stood there, frozen.
"Whoa." "Whoa."
That's... kinda freaky. Why didn't that happen when Kyle cursed me?
I wonder if the other moms are frozen too...
Jen slipped out of her room and quietly walked to the top of the stairs. She held onto the banister with both left arms and leaned over to peek into the kitchen. Her other 3 moms were all in the kitchen, frozen in various poses.
Oh wow. I guess even though she's 4 separate people, they collectively make up 1 curseable person. Interesting.
Now this has possibilities...
She rushed back to her room, closed the door, and sat down at her computer. With her right head she set a timer for 5 minutes til the hour, to make sure she would have time before the next pill. With her left head she pulled up a text editor and started to write out what she wanted the curse to be.
The time flew past and the alarm prompted her to action. Jen turned to her still frozen mom and began to read the screen with her right head while speaking with her left head,
"Okay mom. I'm sorry, but I need you to do this. First off, your Transform:
For your transformation, you will become a hivemind. When you split during your change, you remained a single consciousness who has multiple bodies instead of becoming 4 separate people. This is a feature of the genetic line, meaning it's passed down to your descendants.
And for your dare, you will T or D me. When I answer, you will transform me so when someone ingests a pill I have coughed up, they have the choice of whether or not they want to be transformed. Also you will give me the ability to override their choice and force someone to be transformed if I want. And when I swallow a pill, or let a pill go too long without swallowing it, its effects will apply to Kyle Perkins instead of me.
Uhhhhh, and make it so that I age really slowly and uh... oh, make it so that if I override someone's choice when a pill affects them, I can influence their transformation.
And finally, once you have done that, you won't remember any of this and will think that the changes are normal."
Jen took a deep sigh as she finished reading. Her mom suddenly moved. Both pairs of eyes locked onto Jen's eyes.
"Young lady, what are yo--" All 6 of her mom's arms grabbed her 2 heads and she hunched over. She writhed in agony for a few seconds then blinked a few times and looked around.
"Wow. This is..." "... so much better. Okay, so the hivemind idea may have been a good one..." "..it's amazing to be in 4 places at once..." "...but what is all this stuff about pills and- Transform or Dare?"
Her mom's eyes went wide as she was forced to speak the words.
"Transform" Jen confidently answered back.
"Really, young lady? What are you getting yourself into?" her mom's right head scowled. At the same time, her left head recited the changes that Jen had commanded.
"For your transformation, the pills you cough up will give the person who ingests them the choice of whether or not to be transformed. You can also choose to override that and influence their transformation when you do. If you eat a pill or no-one eats a pill then Kyle Perkins is affected instead of you. And you will age slower... let's say you will age at 0.1% of the normal aging rate, you're still my daughter afterall, and I want the best for you."
Jen grinned with both heads, she was getting everything she wanted.
"Oh, I'm not done young lady."
Never before had Jen's mood gone so fast from smug contentedness to terror.
"Every time you force someone to be transformed, you will duplicate out another body. Consider yourself introduced to karma, my dear. I hope it makes you a better person."
Then the mom's eyes glassed over. Jen waited uneasily, not feeling any different physically, but emotionally scared.
About 20 seconds later, her mom started to move again.
"How are you feeling sweetie?" "It looks like you're changing fast!" "The school said it's fine for you to stay home today because of your change." "Come on, you should lay down. You don't want to be standing up when the first duplication hits." "Trust me!" "Let me get you some hot chocolate."
Her mom guided her over to her bed, and tucked her in under the covers. Jen blushed at the mothering treatment, but was still too stunned by the additions her mom had made to resist. She looked up at her mother and timidly asked with her left head, "When I get far enough in the change and duplicate..." "... is that going to hurt?"
"Maybe a little at the very start" "It's not bad really" "More of a extra crazy stretch" "Cocoa's here!" "Careful, it's a bit hot still. You should wait to drink it."
Jen could see beyond her mom sitting on her bed as the door opened and another of her mom walked in carrying a cup of hot chocolate. The other mom walked over to her bed and set the mug down on the nightstand, then turned to Jen and asked, "Do you want me to stay with you?" "It's no problem, I can just skip Pilates with one body today"
Jen shook her heads, "Thanks, I'll be fine." "I kinda want to be alone."
Both of her moms nodded their heads. "I get it." "Just hollar if you need anything sweetie." "And from 10 to 11:30 I'll be out, so call my cell, but I'll be able to come back immediately if you need me." The two identical women controlled by a single consciousness left the room and closed the door behind them.
Jen coughed and a pill flew out of her left mouth. She caught it and stared at it.
Well... I guess it's time for the moment of truth.
I really hope that worked.
