Puck drifted down, using his power to send the adult into slumber. He grinned. "So, you want to sleep like one of the little ones?" Looking over the children, it was obvious which was the youngest - the copper-haired boy with a dirty nose and big ears. The fairy settled on Parker's chest, keeping the older human asleep and motionless. Staring at the ginger boy for a minute, Puck then turned his attention back to the adult. "First the right look."
Parker's hair seemed to catch fire, the dark brown turning bright copper in a spreading wave that started at his forehead. His skin got pale, with freckles appearing on his nose, with eyebrows and the stubble on his chin becoming coppery as well. The man's ears got bigger, and the shape of his face changed. It was soon obvious that the adult was now a grown-up version of the red-haired boy, and though nothing could be seen under the sleeping bag, Puck knew the man's body was also sporting copper red hair and a slightly chunkier build.
Satisfied with the cosmetics, Puck rose up and made a gesture with one hand. The adult's left hand rose up as if to swat an annoying insect, then rubbed absently at his face. After a moment, the man's thumb slid into his mouth and he sucked on it automatically, still asleep. Perfect! Now for the next stage. Puck concentrated on the child version again, and the adult started to change. Still the same copper-haired human, but 28 instead of 30, then 24, then 22. The stubble vanished and his face rounded out, freckles becoming more pronounced. Twenty, then eighteen. Now the older human's body was getting smaller rapidly as he experienced the growth spurts of his teenage years in reverse. Sixteen, with a scattering of acne. Fourteen with teeth a little too big, then twelve with definite buck teeth in the smaller mouth. The older human was a big brother, then not so big brother. Ten, still buck-toothed and freckled. Then the teeth started to draw back as he was eight, then vanished as the change slowed. Six now, with missing teeth, and finally, an identical five year-old, physically indistinguishable from the original child. In truth, there was one difference, though only Puck would ever know. The former adult was just marginally younger, something he and his twin would be aware of instinctively.
After admiring his work for a moment, Puck used a simple spell to make Parker's clothing and sleeping bag also identical to his new brother's. His mouth twisted into a smirk, and another gesture brought a faint smell of urine that would become more obvious as damp spots appeared on twin's sleeping bags. All that was left was the adult's mind. Puck dropped down and stroked the original child's forehead, then flitted over to do the same to the transformed adult. A copy of the child's memories and knowledge and his personality drifted into the former adult's mind, first mixing with, and then replacing the adult identity.
"Puck!" The fairy was startled out of his task by a high, lilting voice. Titania, a bright blue female fae flitted in excitedly. "One of the humans is swimming with the salmon!"
The rare potential of a human mixing with fish made Puck forget his annoyance and he shot up to join Titania. "Show me! It sounds like we'll have another salmon joining the run!" The two flew out through a vent, leaving the identical twin gingers still asleep, sucking their thumbs in perfect unison.
