The last week of August was usually when the Fall Fever season hit those Animalians who were seasonal breeders. Fortunately there were "heat suppressants" that were available to help "keep it down". That didn't mean that there wasn't funny things going on, even if Summer was nearly over.

Simon brought home a really amusing story from one of his "practice patrols".
"There was a report of a drunk not behaving well." said Simon to Malice and his mother and stepfather at the dinner table, "I was closest to the report so I was sent to investigate. It wasn't a drunk human, it was a black bear that had eaten a whole crate of fermented apples left to rot in a junkyard." Simon then went on to describe the bear's behavior before animal control managed to get him into a trailer to sleep it off. Everyone was laughing long and hard at the story's end.

One of the more amusing things that happened was from the Bare as You Dare Finals. There were many female couples who really wanted to win, but the first place winners in the couple's division was none other than Ella and Simone. It seemed to be more of a blow to their egos that Ella and Simone were both old enough to be some people's grandmas AND curvier than some of those on the cheerleader squad, so to speak. Fortunately, the Bare as You Dare Competition was more about fun than winning. Ella and Simone were also more than happy to hand over the $10000 check to the second place winners, due to Simone's successfully rebooted musical career.

One somewhat surprising thing that was seen by Abby and Samson was a female stoat Animalian that seemed to be half brown, half white.
"What's up with you?" asked Abby, "You ill or something?"
"No, I'm not." answered the stoat, "My winter coat's just coming in."
"Really?" asked Samson.
"Yes," said the stoat, "The color change of my coat is tied to how long the days are, which signal when to shift from brown to white."

Another thing that was really, really funny was from the A-BC Finals. It wasn't enough to show that a muscular body wasn't just well-shaped, but functional as well. What was often done to show them off was to show how heavy the weights were compared to the strength of a human. One guy managed to get one such barbell one inch off the ground, but he had to leave because his pants ripped wide open from the effort to get it higher.
The final results before the final judgement did show that it was a tie in the men's bracket. The three men were none other than Lord Chumlee, Amos, and Esteban. The final round was going to show more or less who was the "top bod" amongst the three of them.

Diego didn't expect to meet another of his species so soon, but apparently Patty had a good reason for it. A simple lucky streak in Mexico had her on the wrong end of a Mexican crime lord. She was able to make it to America just fine, and appealed to the FBI for protection. They had got her into Animalia, after withdrawing her old identity, and she had chosen to be a smilodon because they were her favorite animal. Diego was able to show her the ins and outs of being a Smilodon Animalian, but he found it hard not to be attracted to her. She had managed to get a job at the Worldmeet Glade Casino exchanging chips and cash, but she often called herself Lady Luck especially when someone managed to win big at slots and she went over to them to present the prize money to them.
