“What if my parents see you?” Carter asked. “A random girl? With blue hair? Just sitting in my room?”
Quinn stares upwards for a moment as if processing this confusing information.
“I can see that as...plausible,” Quinn said. “Would you like me to change something?”
“Carter?” yelled a deep voice. It was Carter’s father. Carter could here footsteps coming towards his door.
“You can be my twin brother or something,” Carter said shaking his hands wildly. “Just a moment dad!”
“Carter,” said Carter’s father as he opened the door. “I need you two to help with the dishes please. Dinner will be ready soon.”
Carter’s father closed the door and Carter jerked his head to the side to see a somewhat similar version of himself sitting on a newly formed bed. While almost identical, they “twin” did have a bright blue highlight in his hair.
“Is this sufficient?” Quinn said. “I have changed it so that I am your twin brother.”
“Sh-sure,” Carter said nervously. “Just make sure you act normal when we’re around other people. Come on, let’s go before they get angry.”
The boys made their way down and began cleaning dishes as their mother and father cooked dinner. To Carter’s surprise, the family of four sat down and had what seemed like a normal dinner as if nothing had changed.
“Carter,” Carter’s father said sternly. “Can you here me? Could you please pass the pepper?”
Carter shook his head and handed the paper to his father. Clearly he could use this to his advantage. He could have anything he wanted. Dinner ended quickly and Carter walked upstairs followed by Quinn who had somehow procured a phone and was texting on it.
“Ok Quinn,” Carter said. “What else should we do?”
“Doesn’t matter to me,” Quinn said as he shrugged.
“We can do anything, we can change the world!” Carter said excitedly.
“Ok,” Quinn said. He looked intensely at Carter. “I will now change the world to meet your desires Carter.”
“Wait what?” interrupted Carter.
Quinn cocked his head. “You requested to change the world. I will select a change based on your most ideal idea gathered from your desires. The change will be instantaneous in 5...4...”
“Wait Quinn WAIT!” yelled Carter.
“3...2...1...”
