Joan was obsessed with the past. During her college years, she would foolishly buy several antiques, spending most of her money on them and not for a necessity that she needed, food. So when she heard that a garage sale was happening near where she worked, she had to go, there was no stopping her. Browsing around, there was a lot that caught her interest, old furniture magazines, records of orchestras performing the best of Mozart, tapes of 80's one hit wonders, VHS tapes of animal documentaries, but one thing caught her eye.
A Polaroid camera.
She had never seen one in very, very good condition like this before, she would always see one that was dusty, sticky, broken or missing a vital piece that the camera needed. But was spectacularly kept in good nic. She had to have it, she knew that if she left without getting it, some other git would get it and damage it. She grabbed the camera and launched herself to the counter.
"Excuse me, miss" Joan said to who was in front of the counter.
"Yes?"
"I would like to get this, please. How much is it?"
"15 dollars"
15 bucks for this perfectly good camera? What a deal! Joan handed out 15 dollars exactly in a flash. She has it. She now has the camera. This made Joan excited immediately, but as she walked out of the sale, she noticed something hanging of it.
A inscription that read out: "Beware the camera. Photos taken will not appear to be the same as life. Beware the camera's choices".
Joan just shrugged it off, thinking that the owners put it there to scare off potential buyers. She was so excited, she didn't know what to do first...
