Ty afraid of what would happen to his friend decided to use his "mind's eye" to fix things. Ty focused on Joshua as he said firmly, "Fall asleep now". No sooner had Ty said those words as Brian's dad had stumbled on the floor and fell into a deep sleep. Brian as well as the onlooking Ty breathed a sigh of relief.
Ty was unsure of what to do next while Brian creeped carefully over to look at his youthful and sleeping father. "This has been one weird day." Brian thought. Ty now decided that he had had enough fun for the moment. Ty said "Revert to your correct age" while he focused on Brian. Brian felt his stomach churn and felt his body get warm. He looked in a mirror and saw his man-sized self begin to regress and shrink. His mind was in shock so it was only natural that a few tears rolled from his eyes in the process from the emotional stress of aging and then regressing. He was now at his proper age again and fell to the floor, exhausted. Ty felt a little guilty for his mischief-making, but then again he thought of the phrase "Use it or Lose it".
Ty decided that Brian's dad deserved to be young, so he would allow him to keep his youth, but not let him or Brian remember that he magically looked younger than he did before. Ty said, "You shall both forget what happened just now and go about your daily lives." As he said that they awoke and Joshua felt like the way he looked, an energetic stud, and he decided to take Brian out to the movies for a day of carefree fun. Ty was satisfied with the results and said, "Hey I'm getting the hang of this gift!" Ty wondered though, "Where did this gift come from?"
Ty decided he should have someone he can talk to his gift about. He felt like going to see what Dustin was up to. He knocked on Dustin's door and said "Dusty can I come in?" Dustin replied in a choked voice, "Go away!" Ty entered the room and closed the door behind him. Ty saw Dustin on his bed covering his face with a pillow. Ty taunted, "Aww, what's the matter Dusty baby? Nobody believes you about your "little" dilemma?" Ty inaudibly whispered, "Shrink Dustin to his 10-year old self, physically."
Ty watched on as Dustin's body grew smaller till it was what Dustin would have looked when he was 10! Dustin felt the change and without thinking threw off his pillow and looked up at his towering little brother, then at his mirror, and Dustin wept quietly. "This isn't possible! This is something out of a fairy tale! What did I do to deserve this??!! I'm NOT supposed to be a little kid," Dustin sobbed looking at his now powerless self. Ty felt tears begin to form in his own eyes. Ty thought, "Am I really feeling sorry for this brat? I mean he treated me so bad when he was big, but now that I have these powers aren't I guilty of the same? After all he is kinda my brother and maybe he's learned his lesson."
Ty then spoke to the pint-sized former bully, "Alright, if I said I believe you and COULD help you get back to your right age and size, Would you SWEAR, Would you PROMISE me that from now on you would treat me like I was your best friend, your savior??!" Dustin felt that Ty was being sincere and knowing that he didn't have many other options, except for waiting to grow up again he said with glee in his small sounding voice, "Rrr-EALLY but, but hhow? Yes, I agree. I want to be big again." "Alright Dusty, here's the deal while you were in here sulking, no offense, I went to the library and looked for ways to help you." Ty lied. "Well I found this Book on magick and it told me to make this pendant which gives the wearer supernatural powers. So follow me to my room so I can use it to help you."
Ty took the kid Dustin to his room and closed the door after them. Ty opened his drawer and willed an old stone next to a piece of string to look like a magic pendant. Ty put on the pendant and said, "Ok Dusty, you ready?" Dustin shook his tear-stained face excitedly. Ty said aloud, "Make Dustin his rightful age again." Dustin felt his body grow, his features change, his frail, weak body becoming that of a tough, strong young man's again.
Dustin was now his normal young adult self. Dustin pulled on his clothes and looked in the mirror at his firm body as tears formed in his eyes "I'm me again!" he choked in his normal-deep tone of voice. He hugged Ty hard and said "Little bro I'm so sorry for how I treated you, I was a real jerk, if you were responsible for turning me into a kid I deserved it. Happy Belated Birtday, by the way." "See if you had been this nice from the beginning none of this would have..... probably happened." Ty said quickly. "Well I owe ya bud. Let's go out for Ice Cream" Dustin said. "Thanks Dusty." Ty said. Dustin replied in his most sincere tone, "Oh yeah and now that I'm not a baby and that we're compadres, you think you could stop calling me Dusty? Please?" "You got it Dusty!" laughed Ty and Dustin just couldn't help but chuckle.
Dustin was and has been forever grateful since, and they are the best of friends. Ty later let Dustin in on his powers saying the pendant gave him the powers when he used it to make Dustin himself again. As for the not so nice foster parents well.....that's another story...
